I was on the phone with a friend, and he told me there was a game with an adult rating on it, what game is that?

That would be "Thrill Kill" however the game was cancelled...so even though it was rated adults only, it was never sold to anyone...so I guess he is kinda right...

there is still a game with an adult rating. I forget the name but you can find it on this sites. Just search for games by their rating and pick adults only. I just saw a really busty woman as the hero. There must be nudity and swear words in it to be adults only. I dont think they should have adults only games because who wants to stare at naked cartoons?

Yeah thats Psychotoxic: the 4th Horseman. Just yesterday I wrote a comment on it...I think 100% it will have to be trimmed down to a Mature rating or cancelled. It looks so nice tho I would hate to see it cancelled. Heres my comment on the game "It looks great, but you wont be able to buy it anywhere, and because of that it might be canceled. Think about where most people buy computer and console games. Walmart, Target, Best Buy or a specialty store like EB or maybe online..most of the places I have named arent allowed to sell games that are rated AO. Especially with the crackdowns on this issue, like at some places you have to show IDs if you dont look old enough. They have to get it down to M or they wont make $ so it will be cancelled"

The beauty of the XBox is that it has "Parental Controls" on it :D This places the XBox in a seperate category...if anyone has any issues with games, all they have to do is select the Parental Control function. By having this function added to the console, it allows gaming programmers the flexibility to create anything they want without limitations :D Try doing that on a PoS2 or LameCube :D

Yeah but still, there are always people looking for trouble...like that one city that tried to outlaw smoking in your own house! I still think that Walmart and other retailers will just not sell AO games. Its like going to walmart and when you walk in where they have the specials you see playboys and stuff. They just dont sell stuff like that, and if you are a game maker that cant sell your game because stores wont carry it, well then you just wont make it so bad...what they SHOULD do is make the game with all the gore and stuff off, and then you can buy a CD from their website which will unlock everything...as long as you arte just paying shipping and the actual cost of the cd. With the Xbox HD, im sure it is possible to do something like this...everyone would be happy, except the gamers who have to play with limited blood the first few days

Frostberg...I respect your opinion but I humbly disagree. First, the city that banned smoking in people's houses was in some extremely upscale, yuppy ass neighborhood in Virginia. I highly doubt this will be a huge trend across the nation. They are pretty whacko if you ask me. I'm always one to have politics out of the walls of my home.

Now, I'm not one for nudity...especially in video games. I have a wife for my needs...but, I will leave it at that. As for blood and gore, that is what the parental controls are for. I love the fact that game programmers can make games as bloody and gorey as they want because of the parental control function. If anyone has any quoms with it, all they have to do is lock on the parental control thing and they are in business. Just so you know, I won't ever touch mine :D

Thrill Kill is pretty descent, I have it for PS1. Its a VERY hard to get game as it WAS never Officially released. You can only get it in certain circles.

I think in time there will be AO games for XBOX, its just a matter of time.

Maximus the "new" neighborhood was in Maryland, I just saw it on Hannity and Colmes..but anyway and I still want to play games like these but still, a developer wont release a AO game because it cant sell anywhere except on their web sites...its a fact that stores wont carry an AO game. So they need to do something innovative...even though the Xbox has parental controls the fact that they cant sell games no matter if it has the controls or not

I stand corrected...it was Maryland :) Thanks, dude! Just give it time...stores will carry the games...you'll see...But, a person will probably be required to provide proper identification to purchase an AO game. If I am wrong about this, then, perhaps, the web would work just fine to purchase them.

I was simply saying that it's great that the XBox has parental controls, therefore, giving no limitations to developers when making games for the XBox...however, they will face limitations when making games for the PoS2 and the LameCube. You know what I mean?

I know they about the parental controls...but I know most parents wont ever use them...I dont see any young Xbox fans that would really mind anything bad. I think the parental control features are just so that microsoft can say they have them. Maybe some people will use them, but any code could easilly be cracked by someone. But still, Walmart and target are very strict about their policies about selling games to youngsters, mostly because of mad parents. I dont understand how it would even be the stores fault. If the kid has enough money to purchase the game, and has enough smarts to make his way to walmart he is old enough to handle a little realistic gore.

I doubt most parents even know the parental controls exist.

And if they are stored in the same fashion as the time and date you could just unplug your XBOX for a while and it would forget about the parental controls. (I don't know that's what happens. That would be pretty stupid but anything is possible.)

But I don't agree that money = maturity, nor do I think that being able to find Walmart earns any merit badges.

I know I won't ever use the parental controls...but, the main beauty of this is that game writers and programmers won't have as many limitations while making games. Before, they were required to...now, they won't have as many limitations. I have read several 3rd party companies rave about this...so, look forward to some great exclusive game titles :)

I'm not one for nudity, especially in games...but, I would imagine that some great 1st and 3rd person shooters will become more realistic...especially some cool war titles :)

I know it's not the same, but this kind of reminds me of the debates about GTA3. I was at a local game store recently and a guy was complaining to the clerk about how when you are doing it with a hooker, you can see the people, but they just get in the car and then lie still. He said they should at least do SOMETHING. It was a pretty funny conversation, but the basic thrust (pardon the pun) was that if you're going to do something adult in a game, their opinion was that you should just do it. Don't tone things down for the Walmarts of the world, because that's not your real "vision" of what the game should be.

I don't know anything about that aspect of GTA3, but I have to say that while I see their point, I'm not sure that it's something they could really do right now. Walmart just has too big of a marketshare, at least in the US. I'm really torn, to be honest. I feel like you should make the product you want to make - don't hold back in an effort to gain popular acceptance. However, I realize that if your product isn't going to get to people because of retailer's unwillingness to have it on their shelves... it didn't do you any good to be true to your "artistic vision." But if you compromise your vision to become Walmart's whore, did it really do you any good to make the game at all? And if you don't make the game at all because you're not willing to become Walmart's whore, and it won't get out to the public if you don't, then are you really giving up some of your freedom to express your ideas? Am I just thinking way too hard about this whole thing?

Ahh...if you want soo much than get AO movies instead of waiting endless for just a title on xbox because it will never exist.

Best Buy has porn DVD's and videos, so why change their policy on video games...thats makes no sense. Adult games and porn, I don't see that much of a difference, its like buying Braveheart and Backyard Sluts Nine, verse just buying that video game. It hypocritical....

Sierra used to produce the Leisure Suit Larry series back in the day, and it sold at computer stores everywhere! With the shape of things these days, there are lots of gamers (console & PC) who are in their 30's (I'm one).

My point is that I believe if done well, Adult Only video games could be very entertaining and could sell fairly well if marketed correctly.

So, bring back Leisure Suit Larry and make it an Xbox Only title, Sierra! Ya hear me?

:p

Oh, and runninutes, you're not overanalyzing it.

Depends on where you go - the worst my local Best Buy has is a few soft-core DVDs. I guess that is porn, but I just wanted to point out that they have restrictions on what DVDs they sell, too.

BTW, they also have VERY few videos now. It's been years since DVDs came out, but videos are still dying out. It's the same deal with cassette tapes - not many left, but you can still find them. Does anyone remember if this was the same with 8-tracks? I'm guessing they died out a lot more quickly because you could record on tapes right from the start, but you couldn't record CDs or DVDs when they came out... but I don't know either. I'm just a couple of years too young (28) to remember the switch from 8-tracks to tapes. I know it's off-topic - I just wonder about stuff like that.

Thanks for the reassurance, Thrasher. I always wonder - is there a point at which I should say "heck, it's just a game?" But I always decide not to - after all, anyone who's been forced to sit through the closing credits of a game can attest to the enormous number of people it takes to make a game, and the countless hours they put in to do so.

Stupid question - someone mentioned "bumping" this thread. I've seen the term before, but I have never seen an explanation - can anyone tell me what it means?

Later, former employees that had worked on the game released the full game onto the internet, and along with various beta versions. All are still widely available through filesharing.

where can we find it?

(im not for stupid games like when the pos tomb raider had this cheat where u could use her toppless thats retartded 13 year old ish...)
