I see that Halo still continues to sell high. Not even GTA3 has been selling as high as Halo anymore. I guess Halo is the longest a game has been high on sales charts for. Most of the sales didn't surprise me other than how good Ghost Reacon is selling. I wonder how the PS2 version is doing. I'm willing to bet the GC version does awful.

The percent growth is what really caught my eye. I guess that sega bundle really helped the Xbox out.

It also looks like the PS2 is reaching its saturation point which just means more sales for Xbox and GC, especially in the next 2 years.

Overall I think numbers like these just prove that 3 consoles can survive in todays gaming market.

Pretty sad how Halo is out-selling Mario Sunshine, a game that was out way after Halo and a 15 year head start (at least)

Not really, Nintendo has split their market by trying to promote the GC as 'adult oriented' and 'mario compliant' at the same time. I'm guessing half the people are buying gamecube for the mario and kiddy titles, and the other half are buying it for the metroid and resident evil type titles. Then there is xbox, and if you buy an xbox you'd better have Halo or else you'll be shunned.

I'd also take a look at the GBA sales when looking at Nintendo, GBA sales outperformed XBox by leaps and bounds, which isn't bad for a handheld equivalent of an snes.

But even with all the other mario games out beforehand that did so well, every gamecube fanboy was looking forward to that game, and Halo came out of nowhere to impress everyone as to think its the greatest game of all time...

Actually, the gamecube wouldnt be so bad if they actually got some good games, and a controller that dosent look like it was made by Fisher-Price...

Didn't nintendo start bundling Mario Sunshine with the gamecube? That could dent into their sales as well.

Yes they did...I remember hearing the Xbox Sega bundle did much better than the Mario Gamecube bundle...

The nintendo bundle added $30 to the price of the console I think whereas the xbox bundle gave you 2 games for free.

Best deal of the holiday season was definately the xbox bundle, hands down. It looks like it paid off too. Glad Sega is behind the Xbox.

For the most part... where the heck is the news on PSO and when it is coming out? By the time it makes it's apprearance it will be so outdated I won't even want to buy it, much less spend extra money to play it online...

I have no interest in PSO so haven't been following that. Guess that is their attempt to get their Japanese gamers onto Xbox.

Are people ever gonna relize that Vice City is not what everyone hoped it would be? All Vice City is: is cussing, blood & violence, and sexual content. Its not that I am someone who complains about content, but this game is not good. The story sucks, you go kill someone, or steal something...then you finish the game. I know people who play it just to kill people...pathetic.

You're absolutely right... it is a wonder that WWE makes money also, and the springer show. All of these are nothing but varying combinations of the above criteria. Unforutnately, those critera sell very well when mixed together.

Yes, and a lot of people made gui os interfaces at the same time MS made windows... but they can't all be winners now, can they?
