Gamespot Impressions (http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2910415,00.html)

Just when I thought I wasn't going to get this game because of the fees, these previews come out. God forsaken hype

Naturally the lamers.com review had to take a cheap shot at the xbox with its little comment about it being broadband only. How good do they think the voice com would be if there were dial uppers playing?

I owned PSO on DC and it was aight. Addictive for da first 72 hours, but after that it was sooo repetitive it was played out.

And now they wanna still fee peeps for it.
NO thank you, I wasnt getting it anyway. Sales will hurt with additional fees to top off the 50 one must cough up for the XBL Kit alone.

I can see how people thought it was repetitive, it was. But for me it stayed fresh by trying to find the new weapons, trading and stuff like that.

I have "PSO" and "PSO II" on DC. Played both online, so I won't be picking it up even for offline. I mean, what's the point? I might rent it to see what upgrades were done. But that'll be it.

I'm still debating whether or not i should pick this up. I was a major PSO addict when it was on the Dreamcast, the cheaters really ruined it for me though.

The only real problem, after the fee, is the extremely limited number of people who this game will appeal too. I mean, not only do you have to be into this style of game, but you also have to have LIVE AND want to pay the $9/month on top of that. I'm just worried the PSO community will be extremely limited and thus the overall experience won't be as fun as the DC was.

Can someone who's played PSO before give me a fairly comprehensive idea of what the game is about and what its like to play? I know its 4 player online and a couple other things but how about skills? spells? community?
