Mine is about 2 hours, 3 maximum, after this period, my eyes turns sore, my fingers numb and my whole body needs some serious rest.

I really don't know how some people can finish a game non-stop, or claim that they beat it under certain amount of time, I think they have super-human stamina.

What about you?

I play games until im bored or if I have something else to do. one hour, 2 hours, 12 hours, dosent matter to me.

Anything more than 3 hours is OVERKILL for me...12+ hours? How do you do that?

wweomaniac

I am the type of person who 'enjoys' and 'admires' the scenery and all, I really don't play games for the sake of just beating them...

I have to agree, I can play a ridiculous amount of time playing games when friends and beer are involved. The longest I've ever played an Xbox game straight was Halo for about 7 hours the first night I played. The longest I've ever stared at a computer screen was for 14 hours on a C++ design project.

damn, 14 hours? i hope the program was worth it

Kraft

Well, it was and it wasn't. Stupid program that issued plane tickets, assigned seats and printed vouchers for it. Not even close to the quality an actual airline would use, but what the hell, I'm not getting paid. The program got me an A for my final though.

I dont have a real time limit. I have games I can play based on whatever mood I am in. I then play those games based on the time I feel like playing for.

Crazy Taxi = Quick
Grandia 2 = Long

Depends on how good the game is, and how many interuptions I have. If the game is great and no interuptions I have been known to play for 18 hours or so straight (minus fixing of snacks and potty breaks).

i remember when i was playing Shenmue on DC.....it was like 4 in the morning during christmas break. i was in 11th grade. i had to use the restroom......I COULD NOT HOLD IT. it was chit mah britches or learn a new move for Ryu Suzuki. I figured it would still be on the screen when i got back....but nooooooo

some old poor man on the 3rd disc was gonna show me a new move. i missed it. made me plumb mad too. i had it saved so that i would have to replay the whole day just to get back to that place. i had been playing the game all day before and wasnt about to go back a save. never found out to this day what the new fighting move was.

all in all i think i made the right decision. if it was just me that knew that i chose to chit my britchez and learn a new move......man that would be pathetic....hell i spent all day playing the game.

maybe if i had not eaten lunch that day? *shrug*

I usually play a game for like an hour or two. If I have friends over, I can play for about 5 hours.

Morrowind is another story, last summer I stayed up all night playing it, I didn't even sleep. That game was just too damn hard to put down.

i played halo for 6 or 7 hours straight....

i also set down and saw how fast i could get through on easy. i think it was a little over 4 hours.. i kept getting distracted.

I can play for about 7 hours max. The games I've played the most are PD, Goldeneye, Diablo 2, BF 1942, and Warcraft 3.

For me it ususally depends on the game.

Its usually 1-3 hours. Games like Morrowind, I played almost 4 hours everyday during the summer. Or I played Halo for more than 4 hours. It usually depends on the intensity of the game.

Yep, I can only play for hours on Halo. Even after my eyes start to water because of the siezure inducing walls of "The Truth and Reconciliation". Man, I hate those purple-pink walls, and the flashy plasma doesnt help either.

yup same depends what the game is. some i can play forever like splinter cell and halo others i like to dabble in some i rarely play but just have around for fun factors. longest ever i played was around 20+ hrs and that was on the very first command and conquer on the pc. but that was back in my younger years ..

I have played Halo with my buddies online for 7-8 hours sometimes. . . I also picked up Boulders Gate and got myslef into that game all day yesterday for about 12 hours(great game BTW the only problem is that in the towns you cant go into every house or shop like MW). It all depends on how long the game can keep my attention, games like Halo can be played 24 hours stright if need be, but that is a little extream.

I also don't play games just to beat them, as an aspiring game designer I look more intracitly(sp) at the set up of storylines, paths the player can embark on and the structure of the game. Like if it is fair(by fair I mean do certian weapons and armor in the game make it cheap and easy to beat - how well the leveling system is done) stuf like that.

So yeah as long as a game can keep my attention I'll play it.

How can you play more than 10 hours ? That's too much for me. Each day, i play one or two times maximum. Each time, only one or two hours. With Morrowind, i remember last summer, i stick with it more than 3 hours.

Sounds suspiciously like Brevity's definition of relativity....

But Morrowind takes the cake for me...I don't know how long I played it, it consumed my life during the summer. All day, all night, only stopping to eat and get couple hours of sleep maybe...

The longest I usually play is multi-player w/ others. When I first got Halo, I played every night for 8 hours, into the morning and then had to go to work. When I have a friend over, we'll play some football, break out my hockey, then his, and then some other games. Usually 5-6 hours. The longest I ever played one game was 12 player Halo (6 vs 6 CTF, Team King of the Hill). We played for 12 hours and it was a blast. Lugging 2 extra TV's into the house was a pain though.

For me, I normally don't play a videogame for more than an hour and a half. When I'm trying to beat a game, I may play my system for two hours straight. I want to be careful because I don't want to over heat my videogame system. Lately since I was away, I spent lots of my time playing videogames. I was addicted to Suikoden III and Galerians: Ash.;)

I hear ya, me, Koopa, and TheCovenant organized 3 Halo LAN parties. We never reached 16, but 15 is just as fun. ;) Koopa already had enough TVs at his house, so we were all set. :D

I've only had 1 16 player Halo LAN - and me and my friends got so excited for it, we made the LAN its own logo, made two official soundtrack CD's, made signs directing you to which TV you were at, made up teams based on a point system weeks in advance, made an official phone tree, the list goes on. Needless to say it was pretty fun. We even had an official 1 on 1 tournament, including an official bracket.

(By official i mean we made it ourselves, its not like we got M$'s sponsorship or anything)

The more the merrier, right? We try to have one LAN party a month. I have a 32" and a 27" that we can play on along w/ 2 18", but who wants to play on those two? So we borrow a 36" and my brother brings another 27". One team is stationed in a back bedroom and the other team is the living room. We have enough guys for 16, but can't get them all there at the same time. Our problem would be splitting the 27's to accomodate 4 players, that would suck. BTW, quick question. Do you know if Halo's like UC in that UC on Live is a 16 player max, no matter how many Xbox's? In other words, if we rounded up more Xbox's, could we split a player each onto the 18" TV's so the organizers (me in particular) could get the whole top 1/2 of the screen or is there just a max of 4 Xbox's? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but we never tried it (not enough ethernet cable that's long enough).

a GREAT 1st person shooter, made with just the right difficulty level (not too hard, not too easy), with a great storyline can keep me going on and on.

The game I played the longest in one sitting, is probably Civilization III on the pc. That game is like crack. I've probably had a couple 8-10hr sessions with that game.

I know these kinds of games don't go over well with the game console crowd, but, man I wish they could bring out at least a couple.

Well, It depends on the game and if it sucks me into the gameplay. I have played Halo over 6 hrs straight on a weekend with nobody around to bother me.

I have also played at night and after what seemed to be a 1/2 hour , looked at the clock and noticed it was 3:00.............AM:eek:

I think if they made a true Starcraft 2, and it was an RTS, I could probably play that game until I went blind from staring at my PC for so long.

I usually don't play that much unless I'm playing with friends. Lan parties where we all hook our computers together and have 6 or more people can last a good 12 hours.

I've played my XBox for 14 hours a few times...straight. Of course we had urination and food breaks...but, when you get a ton of dudes together to play some Halo sytem link multi-player...atleast in my town, it can go on for a long ass time. It's so fun, it doesn't even feel like it's that long.

The people I play Halo with are very good players and we talk a lot of trash which makes the experience so much more fun. The time flies by like no other...and next thing you know, hours have rushed by...it's awesome!!!!

I played BG II: ToB and FFVIII for over twenty straight hours each, but for Xbox I've never surpassed 18. More hand fatigue on non RPGs than just clicking a mouse. Hopefully Xbox will get an RPG this year some time and I can shoot for a solid 24.

Well, I guess I win so far. Once in college me and a friend MUDded for the weekend. We went into the lab after our last class on Friday, ordered pizza all weekend, and left in time for class on Monday. I don't really recall what my class schedule was, but it would have been 60+ hours of nonstop gaming.

It depends on my moods... sometimes I'll go a whole week doing nothing but playing games. Other times, I won't pick up a controller or put a game into my computer for months at a time.

Last week was a game week. This week, I'm totally motivated to go out and get a whole lot done, and won't be playing any games at all. For starters, I'm going to a volunteer naturalist training tomorrow morning, then will clean my room. Sunday is the day to search out job prospects, Monday is a work day. The rest of the week is looking for a job, finishing my radio station, continuing my French studies and brushing up my German. My goal is to learn at least three languages in this lifetime. :D
