here you can see the extra memory card solt being used for the keyboard.......im looking more into it, i have contacts with people who have close contacts to Microsoft and it is to be, that when you perchase PSO, that there will be a flyer type ad inside advertiseing the keyboard which you can purchase....

come back and check for i will post more info on this as it develops

and accoring to an Xbox rep and Sega rep, PSO is being released the 25th of March, not the first in which Ebgames.com posts

Xbox Accessory: Text Input Device

Text input device for Phantasy Star Online.

Overview (TID1)

1. Text Input Device 1 is only an adapter that allows the user to plug in a USB keyboard into your Xbox controller.
2. This ONLY works for PSO; not in the dashboard and not with any other games.
3. Will only be available for purchase online.
4. The current methodology for distributing the product is through www.xbox.com only (The user will get there through a flyer enclosed in the PSO packaging, fill out form ONLINE and receive the unit through the mail/NO OTHER WAY)
5. The unit is FREE, except S&H of $6.95
6. Our on-line version of PSO SUPPORTS VOICE/research shows players in Japan LOVE voice communication in this game; it goes without saying that our North American IB already loves voice...

(there's a pic - silver with a blue plug that goes into the controller where the memory card goes... I can't see the side where the keyboard plugs in, and it looks like this TID1 might block the second hole for the memory card... not a biggie, but wanted to make that observation-SG2K)

This adapter will be available on-line only on 3/25, launch date of PSO.

If you look above the PSO Box (which the Japanese received with thier Live kits) you will see the actual Keyboard adapter.

I would want to use that for games where I need to type in my name and stuff. Or on games like Counter-Strike it will be easy to use.

Im neither exited nor disapointed, for what is a keyboard without a mouse? And I dont plan on playing PsO, it was cool on the Dreamcast though.

What they really, REALLY, REALLY need to do is to make a Speech to Text device. So that you can talk the word you want to write. That would be great.

EXACTLY! That is the point I have been trying to get across to people for the longest time.

I also agree that Keyboards are a thing of the past.

Seriously, where the hell is the mouse? It will be so much easier with a M&K for playing FPS.

I can say the same, but I still prefer a mouse and keyboard to a controller.

Yeah, me too, I'm too lazy to say what I've said before about M/K being the greatest and all. Just had a lot to do with ballistics and consistancy, thats all I'll say... sleep.... ZZzzzzZzzz......

Well, one game that the keyboard would come in handy for would be the MASSIVE MMORPG comming out for the Xbox.... Star Wars Galaxies.

I still have to get used to the controller. I think it would be hell of alot easier for me with M/K.

Who really cares tha much about getting a mouse and keyboard. I mean really, people complain about how computerish a gaming console is and then they complain that it doesn't have enough computerish features. It is really quite stupid. I personally prefer playing with a controller. It may not be as accuarate off the bat but you get used to it just like you do with a keyboard and mouse. Its the same situation. As well, it is much more comfortable for most people to sit on a comfy coush nd hold a controller than it is to be in a computer chair at a desk typid with a keyboard and moving a mouse.
