Rising Sun...just another cheap port?

Does anyone else get the feeling that EA will screw Xbox with this game? Since it's an all console game it's just going to be a port. PS2 first, then GC and Xbox. Meanwhile PC will get a game called Pacific Assault which would probably give a better experience. The decent thing to do is to release Pacific Assault on Xbox (maybe Gamecube) and PC. With that they can make up for the travesty of cancelling BF1942 and MOHAA. But no, EA is so.....fruity, that they're going to give us a port with no LIVE support. Anyone else think that EA should take that game and shove it? :( :( :mad: :mad: :(

It looks cool for a PS2 game but you can definately see it won't take advantage of XBox hardware. It's the same damn Frontline engine. But the good thing about Frontline was that in a lot of foggy areas where you saw things from far away it would make it look more realistic than Allied Assault. But we can't even expect a modest or lavish spoiling from EA. It's like we have to eat the little tid bits of meat off the stripped chichen bone.

I just get the "special" versions on PC. That way I don't support EA. My hatred for EA has been an ongoing thing for about 5 years now.

I agree. I wanted C&C Generals but I thought about it and realised that it could be buggy like a lot of other games. EA is really ruining the industry. I mean yeah a lot of people like Madden, but Madden every year is the same game with an updated roster. EA really started to bomb IMO after MOH: Underground. Dreamcast was then released and EA decided to be fanboys towards PS2. What sucks is that small game developers that can probably make the next games to reinvent or revolutionize the industry don't bother making games for fear of big companies like EA. The last thing I bought from EA was Road to Rome and I definately believe that Road to Rome wasn't a big deal to cancel BF1942 for Xbox. I "borrowed" my friends Spearhead for Allied Assault and believe that as well wasn't a big deal to cancel MOHAA for Xbox over.

Man I just read up on the "awesome" multiplayer for Rising sun. It's just going to be a 4 player deathmatch and a co-op feature. Meanwhile PC will probably get a better multiplayer with up to 64 players. I mean....GOD EA what did we do? Just be Xbox gamers?:mad: :( :mad: :( :mad:

I am just hating EA more and more as time goes on. Plenty of developers will take the time to use each console to improve the graphics but EA just seems interested in money, which isn't a bad thing, but they won't be getting mine the way they are doing it.

I'm not buying Rising Sun and I'm so happy we are getting Men Of Valor plus EA does have any say about the game. EA can shove there pos2 ports. Pacific Assault is being made by a diff dev team, so it may turn out to be crap. But Men Of Valor is being made by the same dev team that made MOHAA.

Are you talking about Men of Valor? If so then yeah. But if it was Rising Sun then don't hold your breath. They're giving that joke of a multiplayer 4 player split screen and co-op. Halo was cool and all but it just isn't as intense if it doesn't have more than 4. Xbox LIVE is here and we want some damn games for it. 4 player split screen is a thing of the past. I'm not saying 4 player should be eliminated but I am saying that some companies should at least start giving us some more online games. I just hope that MS wasn't BSing about having atleast 50 LIVE games by the end of 2003. :D :)
