View Full Version : Just got Live: Problem.

Well.. I just got At&t internet.. and it's fast as hell. But, when I try to get an account for Live, (at the gamertag part), I'll click continue, and about 30 seconds later it will say


Xbox Live is not responding. Please try again later.

Now.. does that happen normally? Or..? Should I just try again later? Please, help..

ahh!

they said they can't fix it right now?.. but they'll call me back in 1-2 days..:(

Try typing in your IP and DNS servers and such manually. Thats what I had to do. Also disconnect your computers from the internet if your not using a router or anything.

Reset your modem by unplugging the power and waiting for 30-45 seconds once everything is hooked up properly. I had the same problem until I did that and then I was in action :)

Also, you may need to get a router, or if you already have one, make sure there is not a firewall that may be blocking Live on the router.

Well, it's working for now anyway.. but now I got stuck.. where do I find the subscribtion code?

as soon as i was on the "Create Account" page.. it happened again.:o

I should get a call back tommorow though.. does anyone know if they really call bacK?

Glad to hear it works now man. My AT&T didn't track the DNS right at first but I figured it out. I had it messed up lol hehe

yes, wacked is loads of fun, but so many people dont like it... i ended up buying the full version this past week($30 at circuit city).

Dang right not many like it... It just is a retarded game to many of us... Kind of kiddy. But there is a little kid in all of us :cool:

It's cool if you like it and all. Most of us just don't like it but have fun :)

yeah, i called my isp and they had no clue, lol.


btw, it's pretty much working now.. GR is a bit odd.. takes a LONG time to load at sometimes.. like 5 minutes

lol,that took me 2 hours to find until i went to xbox.com to find out where the hell it is. turn out i had to get my quater out and start scratching on the sparkilng chrome sticker. o well, i felt stupid.


neway, congrats on getting XBL. in gr, r u finding ne games online at all?? if so, thats cool casue i still cant.

Oh my god, that subscription code is so stupid. What were they thinking?!

Its not the fact that you have to scratch it that annoys me, its the fact that they dont even tell you you must scratch!! Sure they have an arrow pointing to it, but the arrow is also beside another number that is in the exact same format as a subscription code would be!

I finnally had a good look at X-box.com that day and went on the faq...after waiting in line at Future-shop for a good hour to return it and get a new Live! kit... :(

Seriously, if you people are having that much trouble finding the subscription code, I fear for the productivity of your futures. They are looking extremely bad as it stands.

Whacked! is a good game. I seriously do not have any idea how anyone could find that game kiddy. If you do, you need to re-observe what children play and enjoy. Most of them don't play with and haven't seen a naked girl running around or any other kind of sexual inuendo.

Who said Whacked was kiddie? I just don't play it because it wasn't as exciting to me as the other games that came out. So I returned it.

Noo.. I wouldn't buy it.. not at all. But for a demo, it's fantastic.

By the way, my Xbox Live is working great now. I just got a call back from when I called them.. But it wasn't about the Xbox? It was like a rating feature?

Like they were saying sh*t like..

Umm.. did anyone else get that? lol..

First of all:

The fact that "How to find your subscription code" is on the FAQ page for X-box live! goes to show how much of a problem it is, there is no mention what-so-ever that you must scratch. As I previously stated there is also a code in the very same format as the real subscription code to the left of it. What were they thinking? "I know, Lets put this other fake code right next to the real hidden code!"

Second of all:
My ability to find scratchable objects/locations does not denote the sum of my intelligence.

You had no trouble at all with the subscription code?

I love blowing things out of proportion. :D

Gotcha! Though, no, I wouldn't say having the ability to skewer your opponents with shish-k-bob skewers while hearing them scream in agony is kiddy! Either way, it was a fun little game, and I might still pick it up again some day when the price goes down further, but as it stands, I still love me some Ghost!:cool:
