hey ive been online with it for the past few days after working some bugs out,, it is running smoothly for me,, had 8 people playing at one time CTF was great,, team play with vehicles..WOWOW ,, very cool

if you have smaller amounts stick with the small arena's.. i like high em high,, you dont spend all your time looking around

i seem to have better luck with the lag if i host the game,,
it ran amazingly well for 8 people..lil bit of chop but still very playable,,

then there has been times where only 2 people couldnt play because of lag,, its all bout the pings:D :D
ive lost alot of sleep since i got online with halo

Yup, you're missing something. Go to www.gamespy.com. There is an unofficial way you can play online if you have a broadband internet connection. It works, but I can be slow with lots of players.

Do many of you still play Halo online or find it a hassle to set up and play Halo online?

I find the lack of people with low pings the biggest problem. This thing is a bandwidth hog. Hopefully they will iron out some of the code on gamespy's software to fix that lag. I guess microsoft's network is supposed to fix this as well, the performance part anyway. That might be worth a $10 a month fee right there, although I think online gaming should be free.

Wait, Microsoft is going to charge $10 to play online?

If Microsoft charges any sort of money a month for online gaming I will go crazy. That was never stated before and if they do this they will only hurt themselves. Surely this is just a rumor or your just stating that would be a possibility.

MS network is not gonna perform like gamespy in anyway. Gamespy was used as a substitute and cannot achieve what MS plans to do. And i agree, Online gaming should be free like UT and QUake etc...

What's the max number of players that can be on the same game?

The gamespy tunnel is a means of using HALOs IPX (system link) over the internet. Same rules apply, nothing has changed. 16 players total. 4 nodes.

Yeah. This is to anybody who can help(which I'm sure is a majority of you:)).

I have a Cable Modem (Media One - Road Runner), so I already know I can play online. All I need to know is what do I need? I know I need a hub, and what else? ..and if possible, tell me how to hook it together. :) Thx in advance.

Later - Brian

Brian,

Get a hub. Get some Catagory 5 ether net wire. Hook hub up to PC. Hook Xbox into Hub.

http://www.gamespy.com

follow directions here.

Real simple.

The game is 2-16 players I believe. I'm not totally sure about this online thing with the Xbox. Do you just plug your Xbox into the phone jack or what? I'm kinda confused...
