I recently purchased a home theater system that supports Dolby Digital. I also bought the Mad Catz advance A/V kit. Now I've got it all hooked up with the optical input and all that good stuff but the receiver says Dolby Pro Logic II. Is that the same thing as 5.1 Digital or whatever??? If not then WTF??[list=1]

Nope, should be Dolby Digital, as Pro logic just uses a stereo signal and creates a surround effect.
First check that you have the Xbox set to Dolby Digital in the Audio options

And also check which games support Dolby Digital, not all do so i guess they will use Pro Logic instead.

Every signle xbox game uses Dolby Digital 5.1, well, maybe some crappy EA ports dont. That would be it though.

Exactly what I said. All games except for some crappy EA ports have DD 5.1

The XBOX even supports outputting Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES signals too, in case you have a 6.1 receiver.... (Although no games use it yet)

Pro-Logic II isn't too bad, but the DTS Neo version of the same thing sounds better. Most of the DTS stuff sounds better mainly due to in digital sound, the DTS is 1/3 the compression rate of Dolby Digital....
