Introducing the Matrix!!

You've heard about it for months now. Speculation has run rampant. The "Uber Secret Project" is finally no longer secret, but it sure is Uber!

Here it is, "The Matrix". This wonderful little thing allows you to quickly find your fellow OTL members when they're online.

n the forums, you'll notice a drop down box to the right of your welcome panel. There, you select what game you'll be playing on Live. This will update your profile and The Matrix. Above the drop down box, there is a link. Click that and you can quickly see how many players are online, what games are being played, and who is playing them (Forum name and their Gamertag).

There is a 4 hour auto-logout. After those 4 hours, you'll status will go back to *Off-Live*.

My PC is offline when im playing XBL. And im not gonna boot my PC and "log in" so people know what im doing.

Just check your Xbox dashboards if you wanna find me.

I guess its cool, if you really want it to be. :confused:

But i think its a waste of time. The whole point of XBL was to avoid the whole PC thing. That was my gripe with XBC. Why would i want to take 2 steps back?

Lets say you want to see what your friends are playing before you get on XBL. Its a great feature for clans and a forum community.

I could log on to the forums, see that casper is playing GR, then just stick my GR disc in, and boom I join with Casper in GR.

But really, you can go into your dashboard and get all that, but then again, it can save you spots on the friends list I guess.

Thats another flaw as well. People will fail to change their "Matrix" status. So it will look like they are playing when they're not.

Its a mess waiting to happen.

i gonna have to agree with you... remember my "status" sig? i got tired of changing it, so on some boards where i still use it, it says i am still sleeping :D

The matrix is in place for people who want show what their playing....The features are still being ironed out, and more feature will be added...work in progress

I could see the benefits of something like this if XBL could be intergrated with Windows.

So we're basically going to have to wait for microsoft to release some sort of XBL program for windows. If that ever happens...
