PGR display

In several (if not all) the races, on screen left side shows the medals and time etc (during the race) single player mode, which often gets in the way of viewing left corners for turns. Of course in multiplayer, this does not show as there are no medals to be one. In short, I would like the same view I see in multiplayer mode, but in single player mode.
Has anyone figured out how to turn this off in the display, so all that you see is the course?

There's a wide angle camera option that may be helpful. You get to this by hitting the start button once you're in a race.
