has anyone heard of this? someone on xbl was telling me they are a beta tester for it but i wasnt sure because i have never heard of it anywhere else. its supposed to has less lag, be a separate cd from xbl and be another $50 for the year. i was just wondering if anyone else heard about this and if there is some more information on if it is true.

I doubt it. If this was going on pretty much everyone would know about it.

And if it is going on, where the hell is my email?

I highly doubt that..why would MS release XBL 2.0 within less than a year than the orignal came out..?

If there ever was a 2.0 it would be some sort of upgrade.

You wouldnt have to shell out another 50 duckets.

it would definately be an upgrade for current users, though they would probably start adding the updates to the actual cd's they create for retail packaging.

They will never be any kind of Xbl 2.0 for any of the games. The games are updated by the company who created the game not by M$. You can expect xbl 2.0 or whatever it is called in new Xbox Live games, but not the current ones. And I doubt M$ will force the developers to upgrade the service for games already released.

I also heard this on a website (sorry I dont remember which one), but I don't recall any price tag, or anything like that. But I do remember reading someting about Xbox Live 2.0.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me. They haven't announced the price for the second year. Maybe this will be the way they charge everybody for the next year? Perhaps it will be a download and an additional $50 to continue playing?

This is different. I bet they do that to encourage more people to get Xbox Live since they are not thinking about how much it will cost them after the free year.

They wouldn't keep a operation like that this secret. And a good amount of info would be leaked to give us the thought that this thing might actually be created for the current Xbox Live games. You guys are just dreaming right now.

Remember, it's still a good 7 months until we will need to renew. Microsoft has no need to leak info yet.

They will announce the yearly fee on E3 which is May. And they have no control over leaked information. Especially when they have to tell other companies about it. That is like 6 companies plus the new Xbox Live titles that are not equipped with what people call Xbox Live 2.0.

I wouldn't listen to anyone on that. I'm sure Xbox 2 will have something like that but not now. Why change what they put billions into!
