Splinter Cell snatches top spot from under Champ Manager's nose, while Xbox is boosted by surprise price cut

16:41 Splinter Cell has sneaked past Champ Manager 4's defence to hit the number one spot in the UK All-Formats chart, compiled by ChartTrack. Blimey, it's exciting stuff, just like the race for the Premiership...
The release of the PS2 version of Ubi Soft's sneak-'em-up Splinter Cell sees it take the number one spot from Champ Manager 4 this week, following its previous outings at top spot with the Xbox and PC versions.

Reaffirming its seemingly resident position in the highest regions of the chart is the evergreen The Sims, clinging onto a top three spot despite another fresh new PS2 entry from Sony's Primal.

Elsewhere, Xbox hardware sales have soared in the UK - something to do with the recent price drop we think - while 'Cube melted away somewhat from its recent success, shifting considerable less than half the number Xbox achieved.
