According to someone that works at Infrogames that posted at hometheaterforum it is. I'm hoping with all my heart that this game doesn't suck. :D

I have seen ingame footage courtesy of IGN insider and I must say, the game is not going to suck. LynxFX, be prepared to play the game of your dreams, I know I am preparing. The gameplay footage was simply amazing.

Now that is always good to hear.

Now that we know it is HD I am really wondering what the live action video is going to look like.

Don't follow the white rabbit, since she is a bad actress, who is here in Australia (If you remember the original Matrix).........

Personally at the moment I am letting a lot of PC games pass me buy since I need to upgrade it, and can get most of the gameplay on a XBOX, and it looks awesome.....

dont just thank infogrames, thank SHINY, cause their the developers of the game. personally, this is the type of game i need to see good reviews on to get it. its not gonna be buy it regardless like some other games(i.e. fable, halo 2.) but you know what sucks, my hdtv cords for my xbox suck, because their piece of **** pelican. so i think i need to buy the m$ ones soon.

1080i? Damn, this is the precise reason why I went out and bought an HDTV. I'm just hoping the game will live up to the movie. Normally they don't, but, look what happened with Buffy? (Yes, I know it's a TV show, but, in theory, it's the same ideaology). This is a good thing for those who can't understand what I'm saying :watchout:

Now that I think about the Matrix, which I'm going to rent before watching the sequel just to get me back in the Matrix frame of mind, a thought of mine that I had a long time ago just occurred: The Matrix was such a bad ass movie that even Keanue Reaves couldn't ruin it :D

Only difference is that the movies directors actually got heavily involved, writing the story for it......

So, it will at least make sense in accordance to the movies, the directors who wrote it are the ones who have put pieces into the game...

LynxFX
04-23-2003, 11:21 AM
Not just make sense to the movie but actually fill in holes that are intentially left IN the movie. That in itself is worth getting this game for. I have no doubt that the story will be top notch. All that is left is game play and if it is anything like Max Payne then I think it will deliver.

From the guy that works at Shiny: (I mistakenly said he was from Infrogames above)

Q: Is 1080i support just in-game & cut-scenes, or can we expect the extra video footage to be 1080i as well?

A: The entire game (game, cut scenes including full mostion video) is in whatever resolution you choose. So yes, the full motion video will be played in 1080i if you choose.

:yikes:
So we get a full hour of Wachowski directed matrix goodness in High Definition!!

I'm wary about that. Unless they provide three different versions of the video how can that possibly be true? I bet it's 480p scaled to whatever you want.

LynxFX
04-24-2003, 12:56 PM
It could also be encoded at the highest either 1080i or 720p then scaled back down to 480p/480i for normal viewing. They did release the trailers in Hi Def straight from the editing masters. I could see them doing the same for the video in Enter the Matrix.

Guess we will see on May 15th. :D

May 15th, what a wonderful day. Lagwagon has a song called May 16th, I think that should suffice as a theme song.

personally im very skeptical about this game. Make no mistake, im one of the biggest matrix fans around ( I wake up every morning and watch the matrix trailers everyday before breakfast as a morning routine), but i am also a hardcore gamer, and I know a few things about licensed games.

I mean, if the people behind it had a better track record (maybe like ID software, or NEversoft, or 3d realms), then the game would be a garunteed hit. But shiny? hmmmm, very skeptical indeed.

Sure it will look nice and re'd up, but will there be all the multitexture bump mapping we are used to seeing? will it have dynamic lighting? what about that rag doll effect thats grown so popular recently?

Hi res textures aren't everything.

The part this game does shine in though, IMO, is the story. It will coincide and sometime be parrallel to the new movies, making it a must play for me. And although it would provide some mild entertainment for 'bout a week, i really don't see anything there that's worth buying. remember, this is just IMO!

(actually, knowing me, i most likely will get it just because I love the matrix.....)

Very well said young one (I know, I'm younger :D)

But, I have came to notice your obsession for bashin high rez textures. Every (xbox) game uses high rez textures and some developers top it off with some bump mapping to make it prettier. High rez textures are the things to use.

If the gameplay is like Max Payne, and the graphics are better than that (which the most definately should be) then I don't think there will be any major problems with Enter the Matrix. The screenshots have been great, but there are a few problems with them that hopefully would have been fixed by the time it went gold.

From what I have seen the gameplay is better than Payne. Not too sure about the graphics though. Stupid low quality film.

okay, im having a hangover so, sorry for any grammar mistakes....

I seriuosly dont think the gameplay will be like max payne. it ha a whole weird fighting engine first of all, and I see multitasking in the game ( driving cars, piloting the ship, etc...). I highly doubt they are trying to make some enthralling gameplay expirience, i just think the wachowski brothers wanted to find another way of telling more of the matrix story. through a video game, of course.

telling yourself the gameplay is going to be like max payne is impossible, instead try realizing the truth............there is no spoon.....err.....good gamplay

TheCovenant, I am not just speculating on what I think. I am going by IGN Insider footage released a little while ago. It is from the build as of February. It is looking better than Max Payne. Kind of like a hybrid improvement of Blood Rayne and Max Payne.

Seriously, you should stop being so ignant foo!
