Shemue III at E3?
The UK's XBM (unofficial Xbox Magazine) is reporting that Shenmue III will be one of the games shown off for the Xbox at E3 in two weeks. As to how true it is? We'll find out when we get there (remember, magazines have around a month lead in time, so some info may be out of date when it is on shelves).

Fans of this series hoping for it to continue should watch GAF for any updates on the situation.

One word - AWESOME....Shenmue 1 was one of the main reasons I re-purchased a Dreamcast. Dreamcast is still awesome people!! I love my Shenmue 2 for my Xbox...doesn't get much more realistic than that..now Shenmue 3? Hell yeah! bring it!

i had shenmue on dreamcast and imported shenmue 2. I might pick it up on xbox but the game would feel empty w/o shenmue 1 so ill just buy antoher DC. Biggest thing I want to see un SMIII is Japanese Voices with Subtutles!!! SM2 europe import sounds much better than the crappy voice over on SM2 for xbox

I will agree, the sounds on SM1 were........more funny than realistic, but that is what i took it as, funny.

When he would say "that day" i was like.....whats up with that.

but talking to people on the streets....seeing people drunk and those punk girls that call you a ba*tard and stuff........i was rolling when i first heard them talk to me. for like 30 minutes i would continue talking to them.........
i liked the dubbing, humorous to me. to each their own i suppose.

i still need to pick up shenmue2.

And why did u not get it when it was $10 at eb. Shame Shame. Its $15 or $20 now, you can redeem yourself by getting it :D Seriously tho, SM2 surpasses the 1st in almost every way

What i wish is will come out soon...not like in shelves when Xbox 2 is there also. If this case, bring it with Xbox 2. :D

If MS hangs onto the rights to shenmue, it will be on xbox two eventually. There was originally planed to be 50 some chapters spread over like 26 volumes. Not sure it Yu Suzuki will bag on the series before that, but i hope not. Even after Shenmue 26, I will never be tired of the series. The series has the potential to become biigger than final fantasy, in which case its very likly that the who series will be made, and you could see Shenmue games on xbox 3 and 4 for all i know.

Do I have to play S1 to play and understand S2?

I watched the DVD version of S1...

If S2 is possible without having played S1, I think I'll pick it up.

Yes there is a alot of referance to the 1st game from the second. Its not like you could not play they second game, and it will still be great, but you would be taking a big chunk outta the story and it might be confusing. As far as the DVD, i havnt seen it and dont know how well it partrays the story found in shenmue 1. mr Reccomendation is pick of a DC on ebay for $20...and buy shenmue for prolly $10 (then go get so calubur) :D If the afore mentioned isnt feesable, and you got nothing but the DVD to go on that should be enough, so go get shenmue II now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shenmue 2 was a great game, but it got very frustrating at times. I really enjoyed playing at the lucky hit stands though.

Shenmue III .... (drools)

I heard it wouldn't be ready until 2004...I did see some screens of it tho somewhere, so it is legit. The screens were of Ryo in what appeared to be some sort of training grounds with old men doing pull ups in a field near a mountain.

In any case, I will definately pick that one up when it is released. Glad all those rumors about it being a movie aren't true...

as for Japanese Language, noooo. Keep it as it was in Shenmue 2, not the voice overs for Shenmue 1 for Dreamcast.

If anyone watches Shenmue: The Movie that is packed along with Xbox Shenmue 2, do you notice differences in the story/dialogue from the first one? Listen to Lan Di as he is about to kill Ryo's father... He says "Do you remember sun ming zao.." and then kills the old coot. BUT in the dreamcast version, he says "do you remember sun ming zao, the man you killed..." - which is much less climactic. I wish they had omitted that part from the first one. They let too much out too soon. Ryo seems genuinely surprised when he hears about his father killing sun wing zao in Xbox's Shenmue 2, which would make no sense if it went with the story/timeline of Dreamcast's american voice over from shenmue 1....

just my two cents.

Stop spamming you n00b. I saw this exact line in another post and your just making yourself look stupid. Its really annoying when I come here to have an intellignet conversation and you screw it up by saying you like taco bell which has nothing to do with anything and no one cares :cuss:
