I plan on carrying my XBOX on the plane with me to keep it safe in my own hands. I've often checked my computer as baggage with no worries; however, I have never taken a hard drive through an x-ray machine. To my knowledge x-ray machines use a magnetic field or something. I'm worried about my HD being messed up if i send it through the x-ray machine. I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem but i'd like some opinions.

Buy a special Xbox carrying bag and when you're at the airport, politely ask security guards to open and check your Xbox carrying bag so that it doesn't go through X-ray machine.

I did some research on the internet and every bit of information I found said hard drives won't be affected by the x-ray machine.

X-ray machine is really an Xbox - but its just named Ray...honest!

So I don't think it will harm your Xbox - but its best to check with the Airport!

You will have to put your xbox through the xray. Even if it is in a special bag they will make you scan it. But don't worry, no harm will come. They make you xray laptops as well. No more just looking the item over, they have to see the innerds. Hey maybe someone will go, "Wait, a console has a harddrive? Wow, I will get one." Ok maybe not.
