With the release of Music Maker coming I know I'm going to have trouble keeping free space on my Xbox. I have around 15 gig of mp3s (and just tons of pictures) and I'm going to want to dump most of those to the Xbox. It is just so nice to be able to boot that little guy up and listen to music in the living room. Not to mention I'll be able to have a slide show of pictures for when the grand parents stop by to visit the little one.

Anyone know if MS is going to offer a legit way to upgrade the hard-drive?

I would love to have like 120 gigs worth of space to devote to Pictures and Music via Music Maker.

I'm going to burn up that software once it gets release. Very excited about it.

Thanks!

Not this generation. To upgrade the harddrive would require the Xbox to be sent in since opening up the case is prohibited and voids the warranty.

8gigs is all you got. Actually you got much less than that for the music files since a section is used for caching.

Otherwise, talking of any 'illegal' ways to increase the size isn't allowed here but there are plenty of good resources out there that will help you on that venture.

Since you can transfer files from your computer why not just keep them on there until you need to use them on your Xbox?

or you could just burn your music to cds and play them in a stereo, either/or.

I wouldnt be surprised to see an after market external drive. It might be a bit slower, but would be perfect for mp3 storage.

if MS released that USB adapter that they released in Japan, they could also release an external USB drive.
