Wanadoo to launch Pilot Down A new realistic WWII survival experience for Xbox, PS2 and PC.

Wanadoo announces Pilot Down for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the XboxTM video game system from Microsoft and for PC CD-ROM.

Pilot Down is based on authentic historical facts, emulating the adventures of Allied airmen shot down over Germany during WWII.

Developed by Wide Games, Pilot Down is scheduled for release in Winter 2003.

Based on a true story
180,000 Allied airmen were shot down over enemy territory during WWII. 5,000 landed safely and tried to reach the free world. Only 300 of them succeeded in reaching Switzerland.

Shot down over Germany in the winter of 1944, Bill Foster, a US Airman, is about to embark on the most daring journey of World War II. Bill must survive against the elements in an epic adventure behind enemy lines. Reaching the Swiss border is his only goal and the manhunt is on: pursued by the most elite German forces, incapable of speaking without giving himself away, all he can rely on is his survival kit, weaponry and wits. Bill will cross the harsh environments of central Europe during winter, avoiding the enemy patrols that inhabit the towns, villages and forests of Germany and France on the way to the Swiss border. The player must use stealth, resourcefulness and combat to guarantee survival while Captain Killinger, a notorious Luftwaffe pilot, hunts him down and develops into a dangerous enemy within the game.

In games features:

Original and engrossing gameplay mixing stealth, combat and character management

Character management:
- Management of 9 skills, which can develop according to the player's choice (strength, endurance, stealth, shooting ...)
- Management of character survival in extreme climatic conditions

An original World War II plot: play the hunted, not the hunter!

Dynamic perception and suspicion AI system

Fully interactive, detailed environments and models exhibiting real world behaviour

A unique visual style that captures the theme of the game: a rich and stylised set of characters and environments combined with key elements of accurate historical detail.

You dont need any, they mentioned ps2 first. Watered down, $hitty textures, useless port. Put in MOH, and pretend your flying a plane. Theres is your screen shot.

Actually before the change here I used to go to 2 or 3 other sites for Xbox news. Since the change there is no point going anywhere else. The most recent Xbox news almost always appears here first. Anyone else notice that?
