I am trying to setup my XBL account today. I loaded the cd so it updated my dashboard. Now when I go in to try to connect it keeps telling me that XBL is not responding and to try again later.
I have been all over trying to find out what else I need to do. I have ports 3074 and 88 forwarded to the xbox. What else do I need to do?
I have a Netgear RO318.
Thanks,
Netman

Try plugging your xbox in directly from your cable/dsl modem, sometimes works.

I did do that and it works so now I need to figure out what is up with my router.

Try updating the firmware to the router, I know I had to for when I played ps2 online.
Edit:
Made it really easy for ya too!
YOUR firmware update (http://www.netgear.com/support/support_details.asp?dnldID=230)
YOUR firmware instruction guide (if ya dont know what to do) (http://www.netgear.com/support/support_details.asp?dnldID=231)
Reference Manuals (http://www.netgear.com/support/support_details.asp?dnldID=232)
Hope that helps :)

I found the problem. I had to put the ip address of the xbox in the DMZ and not worry about forwarding any ports.
