CD-R Disc's on XBOX

Are you able to use music tracks from a CD-R disc and copy them to the XBOX hard drive? I tried putting the CD in and a message popped up which said it doesn't recognize the disc.

you must use cd-rw's...so take the burned cd and copy it to a cd-rw or get the original disc and copy it to a cd-rw then try and copy it to your xbox hard drive.
