The only way to change your anem is to get a new XBox Live unit. Cna you do this, or is there an option when your year is up to change it to something else? Kind of sick of my gamertag.

Once you choose a name dat is it.
They ask you atleast 2 times is dis da name you want.
Then they ask "are you sure".

So your stuck homie. Only way to get a new name is to drop another 50 beans on a new XBL kit.

While I haven't confirmed this, I have heard some people on XBL talking about changing their tags by calling MS. However, from the sound of the conversation, it seemed like they new someone that actually worked for MS on XBL. Might be worth a shot if you really don't like your name.

Couldn't you just let your subscription run out, wait a week, then sign up again, establishing a new account, using your original Xbox Live software? That way you wouldn't have to spend an extra $50. Would that work?

You would still have to pay money to renew your subscription anyhow. So whats the difference whehter you let it run out ro you buy a new kit.

MS has changed some names, some not by choice. I had a buddy that hadda change his name because MS told him he had to. They felt it could be offensive to others and thats why they did it.

Yeah, you're right. As long as you wait until your subscription lapses, there wouldn't be any difference between buying a new kit and using your old software. All you're paying is $50 for the next year's service, which is what you'd be paying anyway for another year's service under your old gamertag. So, no fuss, no muss, just wait until your subscription year ends, and there's your opening for a new gamertag...

I love the name, i just dont liek what people say. people tihnk the D is and O and call me FONY, while others ask if I'm in the Fire Department of New York. Why must I be in the Fire Department to where this Tag proudly. People are just ignorant. If someone s name was Ghost, people aren't gonna ask that guy if he's really a ghost. I guess when people see my tag, they go momentarily dumb, but I have gotten some good feedback from a lot of people. A lot of people are very proud of the FDNY and the NYPD, and I am honored to have this gamertag. Thanks for putting me i focus man.

if u dont like ur name,just get a new kit since ull prolly have to renew ur subscription soon depending when u got it so just cancel the subscription and get a new kit since it will cost the same amount..
