Mmm well Im going to be getting a Xbox in about 5 days yeah finally :) um I defintley am thinking bout XBL too but the problem is my computer is in the kitchen and I hear you need a router to run the Xbox live and see its a pain in the ass cuz the living room TV is a good bit away from the computer... and well my room is even farther.. so yeah what do you suggest I do.. and what router do you suggest without spending $100.00 hah :p

so if you need to go cheap, I'm sure you can find a router for $30. If all fails, go on eBay and get a good used one for $20.

I recommend a long wire too.

You can get a wireless router and adapter for the xbox. You wont need any ethernet cables, but it may cost more than what you are looking to spend.

umm, best buy is always having rebates on linksys routers. this week, i think it costs 40-50$. not sure. the regulare price of that router is over 80$. i would recomend buying a long ethernet cable off of this site. 100 ft for 10 bucks. i bought 2 100 fts off of that site and it works very well. at best buy, they sell thier 50' for over 40$. its freakin insane.

here you go. its in the middle of the page

www.cables.cc (http://www.cables.cc/cgi/cart.pl?db=stuff.dat&category=Cat5&search=&method=&begin=11&display=10&price=&merchant=)

im sure you can drill holes down through the floor into your basement and drill another hole to where ur xbox is, that way the wires wont get in the way.

Check the Xbox website (http://www.xbox.com/LIVE/Connect/routercompatibility.htm). It explains which routers work best with Xbox Live and which ones have connectivity problems.

you don't need a router..unless you wanna be on the PC and Xbox Live at the same time....

Just get a long cable for like 20 bucks, and hook the ethernet into the back of ur modem to the back of ur xbox
