While sharing a similar theme, Otogi does much to separate itself from Onimusha and Shinobi
Levels have distinct linear goals, but objectives have a broader range than just "kill all bad guys"
RPG elements come from the use of 30+ weapons and 12 different magics
Levels are approximately 90% destructable, and mangled environments are saved to the hard drive
Equipment is selected before each level, and missions can be aborted and started over if the selection isn't working
Levels can be replayed to achieve a higher grade
The game offers a second run, where all your weapons and spells translate over to the new game
