I'm on Manaan and I can't beat the first time. Is there any way I can upgrade my swoop bike because I don't see a swopp bike shop anywhere.

nope sorry you can't upgrade your swoop bike. Try doing practice rounds before you actually race they cost less plus it gets you used to the track which is quite difficult b/c of the stuff at the end

*****spoiler*****

but if you can get a time below 22.5 your set b/c that is the third time to beat ohh yeah let the force guid you through the track don't resist it let it flow through you. hahahaha

I am playing through a second time as the Dark side and I was actually able to get the Prototype engine after the swoop race.

What I did was go talk to the Vulkars who talked me into killing the Beks. I killed the Beks, when I went back to the Vulkar base they had me run the swoop race.

I then later went back to the Vulkars base and there was the prototype engine in its storage spot. I took it.

Not sure if this will help me later in the different swoop races or not though, I am just now becoming a Jedi.

Go to www.bioware.com

They have all three tracks laid out so that you can see the best possible route through the track...

I seem to be having some trouble with the basics of swoop-biking. Someone help me out; I'm getting old and my brain doesn't work like it used to. :P

1. I know you're not supposed to hit the rocks. I figured that much out myself.
2. There are these smooth patches that seem to speed you up, but only if you're going a certain speed already&#8220:what exactly is the deal there?
3. When the meter builds up to maximum and the little graphic of your A button appears, are you supposed to press A on the controller? I know it sounds dumb, but please humor me.
4. Somebody on Tatooine does make reference to swoop bike upgrades available at the Czerka shop, but I haven't seen them yet. Some XBA folks claim you can't upgrade your bike. What's the truth?

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. that's not even a question

2. you want to hit as much of those patches (speed boosts) as you can, it's the key to winning.

3. yes you have to press A, thats how you shift gears

4. no you cannot upgrade your bike, you don't need to anyway

True.

It seems like they only help if you're already moving fast, that they actually retard your speed when you're already below a certain velocity.

3. yes you have to press A, thats how you shift gears

But there's such a thing as shifting too much or too often, yes?

4. no you cannot upgrade your bike, you don't need to anyway
So the dialogue that I mentioned does not reflect reality, then?

no, the speed boosts helped me no matter how fast I was going, on Manaan there is a speed boost as soon as you get off the starting line. And there is no such thing as shifting too much, as long as it flashes the A button, press A

its like driving a vehicle with a manual tranny.

you shift once that gear has been sped up to a certian speed and then you shift to a higher gear to go even more faster.....

first gear (bar goes all the way to the right side of the screen) HIT THE B BUTTON!!!!

second gear (bar goes all the way to the right side of the screen) HIT THE B BUTTON!!!!

third gear (bar goes all the way to the right side of the screen) HIT THE B BUTTON!!!!!!!

fourth gear (bar goes all the way to the right side of the screen) HIT THE B BUTTON!!!!!!

and so on and so forth......along the way you want to maneuver over to go across the speed boosts that give you even more speed......before you know it you will be going fast a fark and your cheeks will start to flap and your nipples start to hurt like someone is giving you a texas titty twister.......after the race is over you will need to go watch some porn on the telly because you will be so horny with the adrenaline that will be pumping in your veins........oh and drink some milk......and eat chocolate too......rumor is that you will gain more horse power and it will travel through your body from your hands into the controller and then that information will transfer to your xbox to the game and bastillla will get all WUWU with you and stuff......great stuff.

I need sleep.....
