Deer Hunter - Is it Live?

I thought I read somewhere that there was a Deer Hunter game coming out for the Xbox Live. I can't find anything on it though.

Has anyone read or seen anything on this. If you have a link to something, could you post it here? Thanks!! :cheers:

I don't have a link, but the game is called Cabela's Deer Hunt or something similar. Search under that, and you'll find something. Yes, it's Live enabled (not just DL content). It's not going to be much of a game, imo.

How exactly is a deer hunting game a multiplayer experience? What, are some people going to be the deer and some the hunters?

I don't know. I'm just guessing, but I think it'll be cooperative team hunting, using the voice communicator, with one team trying to bag more than another team, or solo players against each other (no human kills allowed, of course). Maybe a "Capture the Droppings" mode.

That would have been my main reason to buy it. I mean if you're going to have a hunting simulation you might as well go all the way. Besides, it would have been fun to go after each other with a bow or black powder rifle. :D

Yeah, Cabela (the developers) take hunting very seriously, and their games reflect that seriousness. So if you killed a human, you'd get penalized severely for it.

Too bad. I was kind of looking forward to Team Capture the Deer Poo, or a human vs. deer deathmatch.

That actually sounds pretty cool. Those who like Ghost Recon would undoubtedly like it, seeing as even more patience and tension would be involved. Make too much noise and the deer flees, get to close in plain view and the deer flees. I think it could be a really fun game. Think of it as hunting without actually killing any real living thing.

I thought so too, and that's why I bought it (on PS2). I was very disappointed. Poor graphics, clunky character movements, boring weapons effects, dull environments, etc. It's one of those games that sound really good when you're imagining what it'll be like, but then are very disappointing when you sit down and play them.
