Hey,
Well I am going to transfer all of my computer and xbox stuff up into my bedroom soon and I am looking to get a decent sound system. I dont want something that goes for everything, like the dvd player and what not, because I dont need that. So I want one of those cheaper gaming set ups. I wanted to know if anyone knew of one that could go from the computer to the xbox, becuase I would like to have some nice sound for the computer. I am not looking for top of the line or 499494 bilion megawats, I just want something that sounds nice and better than the tv speakers. I dont want to spend too much, nothing over 120-130 dollars. Any one know of any?

I just reciently got a system. Its Sony, not sure on the model, but check at circuit city or best buy....they should cary something similar. It was $300, but worth the price. Its got very good sound, all the encoders (Digital, Pro Logic, DTS), digital and coaxial surround, and 5 composit imputs (3 with video) and radio. If you got the money, it blows away any other sytem in that price range

I know this is a bit out of your price range but these speakers kick ass! I have a set and you can plug your xbox into them all you need is the advanced av pack.

I found this by accident but Logitech Z640 6 speaker system doubles as PC speakers and home theater speakers if I remember correctly.

I found them cheap here at Next Tag:

And a review here:

OMG Alone in the Dark do not I repeat DO NOT buy those speakers. My friend has those and I think they suck. The rear speakers are much more quiet than the ones up front. The sub sux ballz and overall it's a lame system.

As for my suggestion, my friend went up to Wal-Mart the other day. You know those Creative Sound Speakers they always advertise on the back of magazines? He picked a Creative 5.1 Sound System for like $50-$60 I was like 'Holy S*it I thought that stuff was real expensive'. Long story short, it has incredible sound and I believe it in fact doubles up as a PC Sound System. Trust me, don't judge them by how small they are. They pack quite a punch. My friend almost returned them at first cause they weren't that loud even on full blast but he mis-wired somethin, fixed it but left it on full volume :cuss: My ears hurt for a few seconds. But anywayz, I'd defintely check it out they were nice.

Also, my friend had some Altec Lansing speakers. They are great for his PC but I wasn't too impressed with them on his consoles. Just thought I'd let you know cause they are ULTRA cheap.

Give the Yamaha TSS-10's a go. I have looked at them, but I managed to get my PC hooked up to my proper reciever....

And more practically...

(check out the Onkyo SKS-HT510 system, got a good review and only costs $279)

My personal preference has gotta be the Bose cubes though. Great sound out of speakers you can barely see! That's what I'm talking about.
