For the past few weeks I've been browsing through a site that claims Sega has unintentionally added a potentially serious side-effect to it's upcoming title, ESPN Football. The site is rather disturbing and if your paranoid about this type of thing I'd suggest hitting the back button.

Several people who beta tested Sega's ESPN Football experienced extreme outbursts and bruises after playing Visual Concept's First Person Football, formerly known as "CrashCam." The site points out dozens of internal Visual Concepts and Sega memos that lead to this conclusion. There are also several disturbing photos and videos related to the game and its side effects. Sega apparently used survey groups to find out what to expect if the product were shipped with First Person Football entact. Read it all for yourself, but you should check out the FAQ before posting any flames on this thread.

Hoax or reality? I am tempted to believe it's all true, because everyone knows that Sega's FPF is one of the only selling points of this years game versus the previous editions.

The site isn't intended to be a joke. I don't know whether it's a hoax or not, I am not affiliated with the site. I just thought it'd make an interesting thread and would like other peoples opinions.

I was going to get this game release day, but now I am questioning my saftey, so maybe I won't........pfft, yea right! I am anticipating this game so much, that I can't even wait. I will be there the first day it comes out. That site was a good laugh though. "Started acting like a football player" :rofl:

I just watched the movies, and there is NO way this is real. I mean, first off, why did the guy in the second movie run right for his camera after waking up? If he "blacked out" he wouldn't of remembered he was filming himself. Anyway, this was obviously fake before, and it's even more fake now.

That's not really a good assumption. One would be tens time more determined to try to shut down a site that was true than one that was false. You'll all laugh your @$$es off, but why couldn't it be true? This isn't a site you could fix up in a matter of days. There are probably a hundred memos, a dozen videos, and a lot of pictures. I don't see why it's so far-fetched. It's extremely odd, but I could see a very small, bvut significant number of people actually encountering problems like those listed. Maybe FPF is just too real?

BTW, I'd like to see some constructive posts not "LMFAO" or "ROFL." Because posts like that are taken seriously anyhow.

This is a publicity stunt, whether it was put on by Visual Concepts or just by a group of guys who are excited about the game. What they are trying to get you to believe is that when you play the game you really actually take on the role of the football player and get his injuries etc. Anyone who takes this as a real threat should seriously look into some summer school, maybe getting out of the house a bite to learn about real life wouldn't hurt either.

I did read and view the content, and even if it is far fetched I can understand someone buying into it. I really don't think it's neccesary for you to start insulting everyone who maybe is a little gullible and telling them to "learn about life."

Yes mac, you need to settle down a bit my man. I don't buy into, but some people don't realize the whole media thing can LIE. I probably won't be getting it. 2K3 and Fever 2004 will tide me over just fine. Lets keep in mind that there is kids that visit this site, like people who are 13 or younger. I dont think its proper manners to be telling them they are stupid and need summer school because they believed a hoax/joke site.

Someone did put alot of time into creating that site, and I can understand an impressionable youth seeing all the notes and pictures and videos and assuming it is true.

Also, some children (particularly those self-concious ones, as most kids are) could take alot of offence and take it very seriously if someone, even if it is on an xbox forum, tells them they need to go to summer school or learn more about life just because they were gullibale enough to believe this site.

Oh and those videos were funny as hell. I liked the rollarblade one

There is a show on G4 tv called pulse and they reported the same thing. People were getting bruises and shizit playing the game in FPF mode. :eek:
