DSL/Cable service is almost always dependant on your phone and cable company respectively. Find out who your phone and cable company are (from your realitor/landlord) where your moving and ask them whether they offer broadband. It depends why your moving, but Xbox Live is pretty sweet. It's one of those things once you have it you don't want to give it up.

My next move (buy or rent) I will be making sure that I have some kind of broadband ISP, as I'm in the IT field also and work mostly from home. But yea, I'd move if I couldn't get it, it's a necessity, for both my job, and my addiction :)

No idea. Although from the people I know, I generally pay more for my dsl than they do for their cable (especially if you figure in the fact that broadband is included w/ their tv)

maybe a little, but definitely worth it. cable tends to be faster, and if its the difference between not buying a house (which i assume you want to buy) and buying it, then go for it. Definitely.

Wow you are pretty hardcore of not moving into a house becasue of broadband issues. If you are getting a great deal with the house i would take that over having broadband and XBL

i looked at it like this...a house is a house, i want all the features for the money i am paying. It better have DSL, a good roof, a mail box, and the capabilities of a pizza delivered to my house. Houses are too expensive to not get it all! FIRST HOME...hoooray
