Xbox tournament site coming soon!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know a new Xbox live tourney site is coming soon. The site is under construction currently. I will post the url when the site is up. It will be a ladder tourney site much like what MS offers on their site but it's going to cater more to clans/squads.

a little bit about me:

ive been playing PC games for the last 4 years. i started out in console games but the aspect of playing online made me quit playing on consoles and go just to PC's. i'm 29yrs old, married and i live in seattle. i work at MSFT actually where i do onsite tech support for MS employees. because of the fact i work on the MS campus and am about 2 miles away from where they make all the xbox games, i am shamelessly using my position to get stuff for the site that you won't find anywhere else. stay tuned about that.... :)

currently, i own a tournament site that gets about 4 million hits a month. since i have lost interest in PC games because of Xbox live, i am moving away from that and dedicating myself full time to running what's going to be the best Xbox tourney site around. i've seen some of the ones out there and none of them really impress me so far. i'm sure there are others and if you could list the best ones you know about to me, i'd appreciate it. thanks. i'm on MSN Messenger and my email for that is: blackdeath@deathsquad.st. thanks for your time.

Well I hope you will include Counterstrike and R63.

I would really like to have a tourny/ladder site that is better than the ones out now.

The only really good ones I have found are Xboxwarzone.com but LaunchSSV is a ****ty admin.

www.xbox-clan.com is a good site I have found, very well supported by the admin and just all around great things, you can request your own clan t-shirts to be made, they host clan wallpapers and such clan things.

Oh BTW my clan, The Global Hitmen is ranked #1 on the SOF2 ladder MWUAHAHAHAHA!

there is also www.xblwar.tk which is really very *** because if you win a tourny for a game, your whole team gets one(1) game. WTF is that??

Anyways I am looking forward to your Site/Tournys death, and if you need any help with anything, you can ask me.


Oh and lastly, there is another site that just re-opened, its: www.electrickz.com It really looks promising if the guy that runs it can start adding more stuff to the site. The forums: http://forums.electrickz.com

Is advertising like this allowed? Sounds like it could be kinda cool, of course there are a ton of ladder sites out, so it would have to offer something different.

thanks for replying to my post. i plan on offering every Xbox live game on my ladders initially and then drill down to the ones that are the most popular. as long as there's an audience for it, i'll offer it. i've run many tourney sites and they have all been run very smoothly. w/ this xbox site, it's mostly going to be ladders which are automated. i will be needing some staff though like forum mods and such. i will also need people to assist w/ people signing up for ladders. this site seems to be a site for general info for Xbox, my site is going to be more clan based. clans will be able to come and meet each other, set up matches, post their sites etc....the idea is to build up the clan community for xbox live which really isn't that big right now. it's big but it's not as organized as it should/could be. i think MS recognizes that and thats why they are coming out w/ their new dashboard.

i have been to those sites and honestly, they don't impress me too much. the one you said is the best is very basic and if you think that is the best, my site is going to blow you away. LOL.

because of my position at MS, i've been able to obtain all the "official" fonts, graphics and authorization to use them for my site and such so it's going to look really sweet. on the content side, i am in touch w/ several people who are going to get me regular interviews w/ the developers. there is another guy i have gotten to know who works w/ 3P developers so i plan on getting interviews w/ EA, Sega and those kinds of people. i want to offer something that no one else has and w/ my contacts, i think i will be able to do that. as for prizes, this was the first thing i asked the people at MS about and they said they don't really do that because every site would want something like that and there are frankly too many sites out there than there are people who would take care of that. i will still be doing prizes and such for clans and individual players. my site is by no means an "official Xbox" tourney site just let me make that clear. there are a lot of legal things you have to do in order to be that official. i have permission to use their graphics and such though and the interviews i do will be for my site only so i'm as official as u can get w/o being like a big magazine or something. speaking of perm's, i dont know if the admin here knows but any altering of the Xbox logo is not allowed by MS. the "n00b" thing you have on the xbox logo on your forums is considered illegal by MS. just letting you know some of the things people putting up sites have to take into consideration when using MS's logo's.

I would love to be a staff member for your site. This may sound pretty dumb but I dont know HTML, but I do know how to use DreamweaverMX, FrontPage, Adobe Photoshop, and Jasc Paintshop Pro all very well. So if you need any thing of that sort just feel free to ask. Thought I doubt you will from hte looks of your sig lol. I do also know alot of clans on UC, SOF2 and a small few on Wolfenstein so I could help with getting your site populated as well, and Im not talking on the internet, Im talking actual people on Xbox Live.

Anyways, yes put me down as a staff member, that is if you want me to help. Im really looking forward to it.

ill be in touch when the time comes. some of the staff from my current site wants to be on staff at the xbox site but i'm not sure how many im going to bring over because i really want the xbox community involved.

That's my site and our group. We used to hold the top spot at TheCombatZone.net but it started to get way out of hand as there was no control and kids were cheating like crazy. I'd be interested in helping out with getting my team in there, as we are probably the biggest clan on here. Let me know when you're site goes up and we'll see what's up.
