Will Microsoft drop Halo's(Xbox) price when the PC version of Halo is released? I believe Halo has been 49.95 sence the launch. Would'nt that make sence? It should go Platinum for 19.95. :D

they shouldn't, or at least not too much, even though it's coming to the computer, I think it will still sel great on Xbox

My prediction is that Halo will stay at $49.99 until Halo 2 comes out. At that time, it will likely become a platinum hit.

But, hey...another smart move would be to lower the price for Halo a couple months before Halo 2 comes out just to get those few additional people to see what Halo is truly all about :D

MS already loses too much money on other things for the Xbox, but since Halo is still selling at $50 they will keep selling it at $50.

It's not a big secret that there is a small margin for hardware (and in some case, a negative margin), but, software is huge money. It probably costs companies pennies to stamp out a new game disc.

But most people don't buy more then one copy of a single game, and MS was losing money when they were selling Xbox's for $300, at nearly half that price now they are losing tons of money per Xbox. So just because they are making tons of money off of games they are still losing tons of money from the console itself.

They are losing about $200 per console, to my understanding. But, they are making about $49.90 per game at a price of $49.99 :D

Man i had no idea how much money they were losing.I hope they stay in business for a long time.I love how creative they are with their console and it's options.Halo is still the best FPS out there so if a newbie wants it he still pays top dollar for it.I would if i didnt already have it.I'm hoping they're making a crap load off of Halo though because i hate to see companies go down(Sega).Although Atari will never be missed I still hate seeing a gaming company bite the dust.Yeah what they intended to sell Xbox for was $400 i think and then they'd be getting decent profit. But they thought lowering the price $100 they'd sell more of them and increase profit that way.Man i hope they succeed.

How about a GOLD edition of Halo ? Including the first one and the second in one packages for 69.99 $USD.

They make more money by selling Halo for $20 & Halo2 for $50, so there not going to do that.

Nintendo makes the most money out there, especially with the Gameboys selling so well. Xbox will be no matter what. They all lose in the beginning. It is called business. Back to the subject. Halo will be priced down as soon as a specific and set date is set for Halo 2.

Halo is still in the top ten list of top selling games for Xbox, and after hitting it's one million mark, it's right around number 4 in the list. I don't forsee it dropping in price until sales start waivering.

I agree, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them do it. That kind of thing happens elsewhere in entertainment all the time - a movie is released on DVD or re-released (again, on DVD) with a bunch of hype around it just before the sequel comes out. It reminds people who already have it how much they liked it, and gets people interested who might not have been earlier.

No way dude! I wouldn't pay 100 bucks for one game, maybe only if I could beat it 100 times without ever playing the same game twice. If you have all that money layin around maybe you ought to spread some of it around!:D
come on, pay up sucka, I'm not fooling! I said spread it around punk! Comeone, oh you don't want none of this! BANG!! oh no! oh sh#t! I didn't mean to shoot him! NOOOO!!!!!

I too have played a lot of hours of halo, but in the end its still just a game. NOTE: PLEASE DONOT KILL BECAUSE I'VE SAID HALO IS JUST A GAME BECAUSE I REALIZE THAT I'M MESSING WITH A GAME THAT HAS ITS OWN CULT AND MILITARY. Its good, just not that good.

Have you considered AA meetings? There is a lot of help there and there are others there who will support you in your quest to beat alcoholism. Good luck.

As was said, until the sales slow down, there's no reason for them to drop the price.

Then what the hell qualifies a game for Platinum status? Some of the games on that list... it doesn't even seem feesible for them to have sold 1million copies (as that's the criteria for Sony's and Nintendo's lines of games going cheap)... WTF is MS doing... they're Platinum line sux... maybe that's the criteria... if the game sux ass and isn't selling for crap, they drop it down to 20 bucks.

I think you've just hit the nail on the head there man. They aren't selling the titles anymore, so just like a rerelease of movie that sucked...hey, let's repackage it and try to sell it again!:yikes:

Dudeman, bro, dude,

All I have to say is I got myself an XBOX like 10 months ago and bought HALO right away. Since I got it I've beat it about 20 times and beat it on legendary setting 3 times. I can't play it unless it's on Heroic now.

Besides the single player campaign, you can play it with a friend or you can be like me and buy two Xboxes and I have LAN party's in my house. Or at your buddy's house. Play the campaign together or just fight eachother in teams. This game is completely off the chain Dudeman. No $hit.

This is THE BEST $50.00 I have ever spent on a video game EVER!!!! Period. It'll be the best 50 you spend too. It's inevitable. You have an Xbox. You'll have HALO. Trade a lot in or find one used for fourty. But mine, with how many hours I've played it, has costed me about three cents per hour! No $****.

Actually I heard the other day that MS is going to make it a Platinum Hit on Nov. 15 and include a playable Halo 2 demo in the package. Every year MS does something special on the Xbox anniversary so this is what it's supposed to be this year. A guy I know that works at Game Crazy verified that Halo will be a Platinum hit on Nov. 15 and has heard about the Halo2 demo pack in but can't verify it in his computer. It only says Halo Platinum.

according to the NPD, Halo was the 15th best selling game for the month of August.

I'll bet Halo will go down in price when Halo 2 comes out.
