It’s not often that you get to play as a cop in videogames anymore. In action games you’re usually in charge of a hero – some tough guy who can’t be seen stuck in a police car on a stakeout. Judge Dredd is one of those. Those who read comic books, or have seen Sylvester Stallone’s interpretation from 1995 know what I’m talking about. The story takes place in the far future, where much of the world has been split into so called “Mega Cities” – enormous gatherings of more or less law-abiding people. However, at the time of this game Mega City One’s economy is doing badly – unemployment is high, and so is the level of crime. To simplify the whole law process the government appointed what they call Judges, very talented cops who are judge, jury and executioner. Judge Dredd, the man you play in this game, is regarded as the meanest of them all; the one just about every other judge looks up to.
