Hey guys. I downloaded the Halo PC Demo today and was actually really impressed with both its likeness to the Xbox version and its ability to play well on my laptop (not the best video card you could imagine). Who has played the full version and what are your thoughts? Also, has anyone heard about the ability of user Maps and MODs to come about? Thanks.

I've played the full version and love it...a lot of people complain about the game being jumpy, but i havent experienced any of it (and im on a laptop)

the new levels are awesome and the sound of 6 banshees screaming over your head is just amazing

Well, it's ok for me cause it's old now. I like the Xbox version cause it's seems like more in the CG graphics-style than the PC version look like direct3D.

Define "jumpy" if you could. Is it the graphics getting choppy or is it the controls being unresponsive at times?

yea...i guess choppy would be the word

again, i havent experienced any of this

I've managed to get hold of a copy, and I think it's great. In a game with no lag it's some of the best multiplayer fun I've had in a long time, and the new maps are absolutely excellent.

Referencing the second part of my initial post, does anyone know if MODS/user designed maps are in the works?

i know the ability to mod the game can be done

map editing, i dont think that's been put in the game..not sure if it's in the works either

I was just over on the GearBox software website, and it seems that there are plans for the user to be able to make new Halo PC content. There is a Halo PC Editing Kit FAQ on their site that answers some questions about it. Should be pretty excellent to see all new multiplay maps for the PC version. This ability definitely will prompt me to buy the game (and most likely upgrade the desktop).

man...if they added a map maker onto Halo PC...wow, it would rule all other games on the pc

Eventhough Halo is, by far, my favorite game, I can't justify purchasing Halo PC...mainly because my computer would require some serious upgrades just to run it.

And, eventhough people really like the keyboard and mouse control scheme with PC games, it just seems wierd to me...even the thought of playing Halo without an XBox Controller...

brrrr
