After working on three straight third person action games based on licensed properties (Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Fallen, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb) developer The Collective is creating a console action game that’s not only an original property but in a far different genre. Wrath Unleashed is already shaping up to be a unique original property and HomeLAN recently received a full retail beta of the Xbox version to try out (the game is also scheduled to be released for the PS2 as well).

Wrath Unleashed’s combo of turn based strategy and pure fighting action in a colorful fantasy setting already is entertaining in this beta build and it also seems to be feature complete as well. However, LucasArts is going to release the game in early 2004 rather than the originally planned late 2003 release date, which should give The Collective plenty of time to polish and improve the game and maybe add a couple of features as well (Internet play, anyone?) . In the meantime, we think Wrath Unleashed is a game to keep an eye out for
