Vivendi Universal Games has today announced that it will release Van Helsing for PlayStation 2 and Xbox in spring 2004. Based on the movie of the same name, the game will see players assuming the titular role of Bram Stoker's monster hunter as he travels through 19th century Transylvania on a mission to hunt down Dracula, Wolf Man, and the Frankenstein monster before darkness engulfs the world.

The limited buzz I've heard for this movie sounds pretty good. I always love a good vampire movie, especially one that stays true to Stoker's original, which is a very good read. However, I'm a bit concerned about the inclusion of the Wolf Man and Frankenstein. I hope that is just for the game and not the movie.

Electronic gaming monthly has a good write up on it too. Pick it up if you are interested.

I'll add, it looks very cool.

EGM did a write up on the horror games genre. If you like those thypes of games its worth the $5 or $6 or the $10 for a year you can sometimes get.

Cool, haven't got my copy in the mail yet, but I'll look for it. Thanks for the heads up.
