ELO work exactly? Last night, i was ranked 1st.......but my kills to death ratio is less than 1. How does the ELO work specifically?

Some statistics have people ranked #1 over like 20000 players.....and they have 14 kills and 20 deaths.

What's up with that?

I am wondering the same exact thing... It must combine about 15 different components b/c a friend of mine who has 500 less kills, and about 3 hours less time, and a worse kill/death ratio is ranked higher than me...

I think it has something to do how well you do for a estimated time.

not exactly sure how it works but it has something to do with killing people with higher ELO and getting killed by people with lower ELO, but i dont know exactly

ELO is a ranking system created by some prof with the last name Elo. Here (http://www.reginafoos.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=625) is a better description. Basicly is a ranking system that determines your true skill instead of your time on the game.

Sweet link bro. Was wondering about this. That explains it quite well. I was wondering why my ELO was higher with 25 kills than the guy I was playing against with 250 kills...
