Retirement in Fever???

I read in a review for Fever that Peyton Manning was retired after 4 games. Does this happen often or is that just a freak of nature? I don't have the game and don't want to get one where the stars of the teams aren't even there....

players do retire over time, which is great...i've had a few players retire do to injuries
