TK the 50's?

There is a growing movement on Xbox Live encouraging the TK'ing of people who use 50 calibres. I have recently jumped on the bandwagaon of this movement and will now shoot anyone who refuses to comply with the rooms "gentlemen's agreement" to not use 50's. Nevertheless, even as I pop the cheaters in the back, I do have my doubts. Is this behavior compatible with the "high" standards of Xbox live ethics and sportsmanship.

I've so far come to the conclusion that it's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it. What do you think?

EDIT: I should add, that I give my cheap team-mates fair warning; I don't just pop 'em in the face and tell 'em why later.

Also, could there be alternate punishments, like shooting them in the legs or something? That could counter-act some of their single-shot kill advantage.

As I stated in another thread, I've gone through 2-3 different servers one night where people started using the 50 and learned very fast not to due to multiple warnings and team-killing by their team-mates to get the message across. The other night, some loser was using a .50. I gave him fair warning, then he shot me at the spawn! I then proceeded to TK the next round (not counting HIS penalty round). He switched teams; so did I; It took about 3 or 4 spawn kills to finally make that rat ******* use an M-16.

We usually have a few people on my team that knows each other. So we rotate on the TK.

.50 Cal noobs need to learn.

And if the server isnt to crowded, TK than rejoin. You wont get a penalty. :cheers:

That makes sense. The long barrell can be used to raise the white flag of surrender. They've done plenty of "surrendering" in the war on terror already.

I at first assumed you were supporting TK'ing until I read your posts in the thread that discusses the .50 in general. In that thread, Merrimac brought up a compelling arguement that is the basis for .50 team killing: they're taking all the fun out of it for us!

I also have been killing 50 cal whores. When im in a game with the ddc or gunit we usually take turns killing them. If you enter a server and nobodys using the 50 cal, i think its respectful not to use it too. BUt if they do then POWER TO TK THEM :cheers:

If you go into someone else's server that allows them and start TKing people, then that's bull****. If it's your own server you can do whatever you want, naturally. If it's your server or the server agrees not to use them then they need to be warned. If they don't listen then they'll get what's coming to them.

I agree with Ford here. This is similar to the use of launchables in GR. Of course, it was a little easier to enforce there as there were no dedicated servers and the host could just boot the offender. However, if you're on a dedicated server and everyone agrees to the no .50's rule, then you should prepare to be TK'd if you bring one.

This is why I only go into friend's servers and UBI servers. These all pretty much deny the usage of .50s. If not by rule, then by etiquite. I just don't bother with others. I know pretty much everyone on my friend's list will be in servers that do not allow them, so I don't feel any hesitation in joining any server they happen to be on. It is just a matter or playing with people you know and trust. In the end, it is a much more enjoyable gaming experience.

everyone plays diff...some play with the .50...people complain...some play with 203's...people complain...some play with the G3A3...people complain about that too...some run'n'gun like its halo...people complain...some camp...people complain

IF YOUR YAKIN ABOUT HOW SOMEONE ELSE IS PLAYING...THEN GO FIND ANOTHER GAME...go start your own server, and boot poeple who dont play by your rules...plain and simple

if you dont have the connect to do so...then STFU...it is a game, and everyone will play how they want...whats cheap to you, isnt cheap to someone else

it is a game, but people still take the game seriously...so get over it

i could care less how poeple play, the variance of play is what makes me like the game, if everyone played the same way, games would be boring, and you would know what to expect every time you play someone new

I've cleared space on my friends list specifically for this now. I'm in the DDC, come on and add me. Also, when you face no fear and he whips your sorry ass, don't expect him to hear half that BS you spew since he can only understand certain things due to being partially deaf. And he will whip your ass. That much I can almost guarantee. He owns most on Live.

Finally, I will not claim to be the best player on Live, in fact, I'm not even close with my below 1 kill ratio, but while I used the .50 the first day, my ratio was a little over 1. Now though, I can handle myself against anyone, it just took me a while to get used to not being able to one hit kill someone with a real weapon. With that said...good luck to backing up your smack.

This goes for everyone - it's all good that you're getting competitive and all in the games, that's human nature. But when most of you have been here for awhile and then consistently bash another member of the site over a freakin' video game, that's where the line gets drawn.

I will be sending everyone that got involved in this nonsense in here a PM. I advice you check them and then follow what is said. I have talked with other staff about this and they are backing me up.

The slanderish comments is nothing more than premature jargon and this is what always starts the flame fests. Always. It's one thing to talk smack, it's another to sit there and jump over the line between educated and pre-schoolish posts.
