I have a 55" Mitsubishi integrated HDTV. I am having trouble getting some games that are capable of higher resolutions to run. They run fine in 480p, but do not want to run in 720p or 1080i. I am using a Microsoft HDTV video pack to connect my XBox to the set, could this be the problem or is it something else? I have everything set in the XBox dashboard? Please help? I did get the Matrix game to run in 1080i and it was awesome. But games like True Crime or ESPN NFL Football will not run in 720p, and they are suppose to. These run fine in 480p but I just get a scrambled picture when I have 720p turned on in the dashboard. Thanks in advance for any advice.

i don't know much about your tv, but maybe it can't output 720p

All games must be encoded with a higher resolution capability. The Matrix, for example, supports 1080i, which is only one of a few games on the XBox (so far) that do.

There's also a handful that support 720p as well.

But, basically all XBox games (with a couple of Electronic Arts exceptions) support 480p.

Thanks to our beloved staff member, LynxFX-XBA, he kindly added to every game profile on this website what each game is capable of regarding HDTV resolution.

Hope that helps :D

P.S. You're HDTV is only doing what the game is allowing it to do.

What model of Mits do you have? From what you said, it sounds like it doesn't support 720p, only 480p and 1080i which is very common.

If your tv does support 720p, doublecheck the connections in the back. Some tv's have a variety of inputs that will only support certain resolutions. For example:

Input 1: 480p, 1080i
Input 2: 480i, 480p, 1080i
Input 3: 480p, 720p
