so i recently just got cable cuz SBC is not available in the new area i have moved too. I get to the connect screen and everything is a go except the last item. Basically it takes me to the help menu and says:

The DNS servers could not be reached. Check these possible options:

-If your xbox console is connected directly to your modem, verify the DNS Servers setters match the settings provided by your ISP

NOW I HAVE CHECKED MY DNS. i typed it number by number from my comptuer to my xbox and then tried it again...anyone know what the problem might be? i hate to call xbox live...or should i just call adelphia our cable provider??? its the DNS thing that doesnt seem to be working...:cuss:

I know a few others that use it here, but not sure how they set it up. Have you tried rebooting your modem ?

Also, is it PPPoE or do you have a static IP that is required? If so, then you have to enter all your configs in Settings.

Another Possible reason is that you used modified bios on XBL....
