Its coming out late cos a hacker jacked into the source engine. The PC will get it early while the XBOX will get it late next year. Stupid hacker.

I bet its gonna be tone down slightly for the xbox version. They're doing that with Doom 3 well the self shadowing part anyway.

I really hate to say this, but if the source code has to be reworked for the PC and then ported to the Xbox then the delay of one will delay the other. And its difficult for someone to report that the Xbox version won't be delayed when a concrete date was never given. I hope the hacker is happy with the unfinished game he d/l'ed.

How the hell did the hacker get the source code? Don't they have top of the line protection at a place where they create games? I say Microsoft offeranother bounty for info leading to the hacker http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads4/evil.gif

I am gonna be buying this one for pc. Mods made half life what it is and without being able to have the constant flow of mods i would feel like the game is stripped of something.

I read that the hacker got the source code by creating an email that he sent directly to the head programmer of Valve, with some sort of virus in it that extracted the source code. Unfortunately the head programmer for Valve doesn't sound like he is that sharp. I mean I never open emails from people I don't know.

Thats the problem with being a programmer at a huge company, sometimes e-mail addresses are made public for fielding questions, having bugs reported, etc.

Just go to http://www.valvesoftware.com and click on people. Everyone is on there so its not like whoever stole the code had to look hard.
