that doesn't make sense, cuz if he betrays you that means he's not on your side anymore (which obviously he isn't), so how does that make it a betrayal when your not on the same side anymore?

then again, that's the best theory i've heard.

hey maybe it was the first was the monitor and flood against the covenant then the flood and monitor were against you

the flood and the sentinals were battling in the last level if you can recall.

i think how it went was you were about to activate halo, but cortana impedes you, imploring you that the monitor, was tricking you. so goes the fact that halo destroy the floods food, then, cortana blah blah her ways into telling you have to destroy the generators cause mass explosion destroying halo, and all this while the monitor is threating you to stop. that of which is the second betrayal.
