View Full Version : What do you think the best game of the 1990's was??

I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on what game was the best console game of the 1990s. I think of the games from this time as the golden classics that will forever be played and searched for. A few of my favorites were Zelda: Orcania of Time, Goldeneye, Super Mario64, and Perfect Dark. There are so many other games from this recent past that I think deserve a thread because they were so great and are still used to compare the newest games.

My all time fav. would have to go to either Zelda: the Orcania of Time or Majoria's mask.

Well, what are the rest of yall's favorites?????

I loved Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for the N64. I can't tell you how many hours a friend and I would alternate playing Goldeneye single player missions! We loved the Streets most :)

I would have to agree that Goldeneye was the best. My dad and I still play it every once and a while alternating missions.

Before Halo, the most hours I put into one game was probably Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I had a ton of buddies that were hardcore into this game and we would have weekly tournaments.

That game is responsible for the consumption of gallons upon gallons of beer :D

Starcraft is the first game to come to mind. But man, there were a LOT of great, great games in the '90's. Fallout 1 & 2 come to mind, as does the Quake series, Half Life, Populous, the Civ series...

I was primarily a PC gamer throughout the '90's, as you can tell.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but my completely harmless reply prompted you to make a smartass remark. Seems to be a habit with you.

ahhh brother. Ima explain this nice and calmly to avoid arguing. I said that because it has the "RARE: company logo on it. RARE makes some of the best games such as donkey kong, golden eye, conkeys bad fur day, and perfect dark. I havent seen a bad rare game. So in closing it was not a sarcastic remark dude. as for as the habit thing......ahhh i dont and please be kind.

Wow man, i cant see how you do it. I just bought code varonica x a couple weeks ago. It's a cool game and all. I just with it had more ammo and ink ribbons. That is what makes the game fun though. I have to think and all. good game.

best game of the 90s was doom

it was the grandaddy of pc games (well wolf3d was, but wolf was merely a base for this one)

there was once more copies of doom on computers in america (or was it the world?) than windows 95. and remember, when windows 95 was out, doom was already more than 2 years old by then. it was one the first network deathmatch game, later to be played online with the introduction of the modem and mass internet service

and without doom, where would the thresh be? would there be a pro gaming?
