weapons in RS3?

When I was in the Marine Corps a few years ago I was a 0331 (Machine gunner) in a weapons company. I was trained to use the M60E3. In Rainbow Six 3 they have the M60E4. I selected this weapon and tried my hand at some online madness and to my horror discovered that on the online play this weapon is virtually worthless. I believe throwing harsh language at some would be more effective. an example of what i'm talking about. on one map another player came out of a doorway right in front of me and did not see me. then he started moving and had his back to me. I was literally on the side of the door so that's how close i am to him. so I open up with the 60 and nothing. and he continues to move forward while i'm am directly behind him shooting. he then turns around so that now he is facing me. tells me the gun is worthless and then drops me in one shot. Head shot. My question is how is that possible? I even allowed for the possibility of somehow not hitting him while he was moving. but then he stopped turned around and I moved the targeting reticule onto his head and fired another burst, this is after three bursts right into his spinal column. The rest of that game. I could not drop a single person with the 60 regardless of the situation. and had to resort to a side arm to score any kills. I am surprised that it reacts this way on live. I do not have the same problems with it during the campaign or terrorist hunts. What weapon is recommended for live play? sorry for the long post. see you on live!

I have actually found that the M60 is quite effective and am tired of guys just running around like a chicken with their head cut off in a room with the trigger held down. YOu got to figure at some point he is going to get lucky ..... I have seen some guys be effective with and I think that closing your eyes when you are in a gunfight may have something to do it.

Sure I can see how spinning around in a circling and just firing wildly can be annoying and still through the randomness of it scores some kills. What i'm talking about seemed more like a glitch or something. I had a friend watching and palying, (we were taking turns playing it on live) and he had the same problem with it. I dont' have that problem with any other weapon, but it has consistantly happened with the 60. I have switched to another weapon that I have fun with but I am disapointed that he 60 has that type of "reaction" live. thanks for the tip. I'll try and remember to keep my eyes open next time I play.

well i like the 60 gun for one reason. blowing up doors. when i feel like fooling around and playing stupid, i would take the 60 and go up to doors and turn on my thermal vision to see if the enemy is in there. if there is one behind the doors, i can pump the door full up 60' bullets and kill the person behind it. if u see the strength of the 60, u can see that its accuracy and range sucks, but the damage is high. if u master it, u can score kills easily. but i prefer the famas over anything.

The M60 is effective if you can get behind the enemy, or in close quarter.

As odd as it may seem, keep in mind its a game. And if was to be used in close quarters with an accurate portrayel of the real gun, i would imagine you would have tremendous stopping power, but lack of movment and agility.

Ya I like using the m60 cause I can cotrol the rate of fire pretty well. But I know exactly what your mean. I was like an inch away from a guy and emptied a whole clip on the guy and nothing, un-frekin-believable. I know the game isn't as realistic as it should be.

crap-the ak machine gun thing that is very accurate and has 101 bullets

In the PC version, you can use the LMGs effeciently because you can go prone and utilize the bi-pod. The bi-pod makes it an accurate and deadly weapon in the PC version, but I guess that in the Xbox version, you don't get to use the bipod since you can't go prone.

I don't even see why they added the LMG class of weapons to this game... it's CQB, I can think of very few missions where a support gunner or even a sniper actually come in handy.

Don't forget in online play you have more "health" or armor.. whatever.. You can probably take a couple hits before the M60 kills you. The only place i use it is in import/export. I rush out of the door downstairs and spray bullets down the street.

I haven't had that crazy glitch happen lately and have had much better success with the M60 on live. Of course it still doesn't help the fact that i'm getting crushed on those sharpshooter matches! ahhaha On a side note what game type do most people prefer? sharpshooter? Team Survival? What game type do you find yourself playing the most? I've only been playing sharpshooter because I fear that I may do more harm than good to my team if I did a team game. as it is now i'm usually right in the middle of the kill score of each game.

lol, always team survival for me bc i like the pressure and adrenaline that u have 1 life and u must kill the enemy to win. o well, everyone likes different things. i also play sharpshooter everyonce in a while for a change of pace. the key to sharpshooter is to get as quickly as u can out of the spawn points in order to aviod getting spawn killed and u must move around alot. camping out somewhere wont let u win.

yeah i hate the run n gun style because theres no tension knowing one death is all ya get... makes you play the game more realistically... i hate sharpshooter

Honestly I die quick being new to the game and all.. But like I said earlier today. There is no way to know you hit the enemy and I dont understand how to better efficiency..

Yeah if you learn to just do short bursts of 2 to 3 bullets per burst, you can drop enemies in one fell swoop. Aiming for the head is not as hard as it seems, I don't know why though.

u also have to take into effect the kick back of the gun if u just hold down the trigger that gun shoots so fast u'll have no aim u have to try and shoot about 10 rounds re-aim and shoot more rounds don't take to long re-aiming tho, but if ur good enough u shld be able to get them with the 10 rounds

Yea the point of this game is really to let loose with fully automatic fire. its really meant to be more precise with your shots using short bursts> If u just open up spraying bullets you won't be able to hit anything unless you're aiming at their head and get really lucky
