For Christmas, I got:

R.Racing Evolution (http://www.racing-evolution.com/ ) ~ there are some new features in this one that I’ve wanted to see in a racing game for a long time, such as improved A.I. and in-game radio communications with the pit crew and rival drivers.
Mario Kart: Double Dash (http://www.planetnintendo.com/mariokart/) ~ my friend and I used to play Mario Kart on Nintendo 64 for hours on end. The new one is basically just improved graphics and some control changes, but that's fine with me. It's still fun.
NFSU (http://www.needforspeed.com/) ~ lots of car customization and superb racing graphics/effects… miss the cops-n-criminals tho.

So far, the only racing game I want to get next is Driver 3 (http://www.driver-3.tk/) ~ both Driver 1 and 2 were incredible, so there’s no way I’m passing up this one.

I loved Colin Mcrae Rally. The most realistic I've ever seen.

The only one I got was Project Gotham Racing 2, which I think is the best Live game out there. It may not be as realistic as some of the other racing games out there, but I think it mixes arcade / simulation racing elements together to make a fantastic game.

I like the fast and arcade racers (like F-Zero) a little more than ones like Apex where you have to brake a lot at turns.

I got Midtown Madness 3, I like it ok, but the car designs are way too bland. I got NFS Hot Pursuit 2, thats alright, but I expected alot more cause how awesome the first Hot Pursuit was. I got F-Zero GX....omg this is the best racing game ever made. And I should be getting PGR2 anyday now (Thanks XBA!)

Well, I finally tried out the 'battle' mode in Mario Kart DD for the first time last night since I got it. Up until then, all I did was some single player races. Is it me, or did they COMPLETELY drop the ball on the battle mode?? Why in the name of all that is holy would they make such boring, simple battle arenas??? ******, the Nintendo 64 version was far more interesting and inventive with the tracks and arenas. Dumbasses.

It's annoying how Mario Kart DD has gotten so much hype and it isn't half the game that R:Racing Evolution is, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise considering the lack of attention it got. It's one of the better looking games too;

I got Motogp: Ultimate Racing Technology 2 last year and it's one of the best looking and best racing game EVER! I'm still playing it. You can cutomise your bike and race online with it. Show it off.

That's the game I'm looking at. I've played PGR2 and really...racing games bore me for the most part. But MotoGP 2 looks like a lot of fun. More my style of a racer. I'd really love a motocross game that hearkened back to the Excitebike days - big jumps, crazy action...you know.

And more detail than PGR2 lets not forget. The detail on the ground is beyond extraodinary.
