Here at XBoxAddict.com, we want to know where you or your friends will go if you don't like this BIG merger?

Sometime today we'll be going live with our BIG new feature. We know you guys will love it!

Give us your input.

Like the song says..."We're a movin' on up! To a deluxe apartment in the sky!"....LOL, I love that show!

Where will I go??? I will stil use xboxaddict.com and ign.com as my main two places for new info on the xbox. I would also say xbox.com but it really isn't updated as much as the two sites I mentioned so I really don't use that one. I think their little weird machine they made kinda like a high tech looking slideshow is pretty cool but it takes forever on my comp to get it to advance to the next pic. I really like how the pics are laid out on this site, like 12-16 thumbs per page for each game.

The only game sites I go to anymore are here, MSXbox, and GameSpot. IGN rarely updates with the same amount of news this place and MSXbox do. The only thing IGN has more is original content and they can get a lot of insider and confidental type stuff.

BTW, the new feature is pretty cool. I only wish I could get music to play when I say eXcite Meter. :D

XBox Addict is king!!!

This is the best site for info, hands down.

I go to IGN for updates from the message boards. The message boards have more info in one day than the whole site in a month. IGN would suck hardcore without the message board.

I agree. I was pretty clueless about XBOX's features. All I knew about it were some games and very little info on it. I learned about ign's message boards and I've learned a buttload of info on all 3 major contenders and I can now help a lot of newbies to the boards.

Ugh, I can't stand those boards. The second someone starts a topic it gets buried. People must spend every waking second on that board. There's 50 new messages every minute, good luck trying to keep track of a specific thread. Part of
that probably contributes to all the multiple threads that ask/say the same thing. No one ever bothers to read back to see if there questions/comments have already been addressed. And even with DSL their boards are soooooo slow. I won't even get into all of the crap posted by the whining, short fused, 11 year old bastages on mommy's AOL account that feel it necessary to clog that place up.

No thanks, I'll stick with a board with a decent pace, 100 times less redundancy, and (usually) intelligent posts.

Yeah you do have good points. "When" there are more xbox guys on there than gamecube geeks the boards are nice and we help each other out with info. However, much of the time it's stupid ass whining cube fanboys that bash xbox non stop. When I went over to the nintendo boards almost all of their threads were not closed up because the xbox guys could really care less about that damn cube. Sure the games are cool and will be fun but hell if we really cared about getting a gamecube more than an xbox then everyone would be over there, instead of most of them on the xbox threads. It's such a pain in the ass.

That's one main reason why I like this board, very little *****ing about xbox.

I just can't wait until this place expands. I'm glad I found it.

We need some movies, you need to sell ****, add a membership section that you pay for but when you pay you actually get something for it other than being able to put a little picture by your name(IGN Insider)and a bunch of other stuff.

Make some money and do some upgrading to make this place run faster!

make everyone pay for special stuff if they come from august on... that shows that everyone here before then is a true gamer...

Dr_J
07-14-2001, 11:36 AM
Nah, don't do that. That would just shun people away from this place. I wouldn't mind paying $20-$30 a year as long as I get SOMETHING. See, at IGN, you get news before the general IGN public. But, that's retarded because I come here and it's on this site before it's out to people that pay for it. And I get it for free.

There are a lot of moronic teenagers that buy into that stuff. I'm not that stupid. Yeah, it's only 20 bones, but it's still 20 bones. That's a half-tank of gas! People ***** and moan about not having enough money.....well, it's because you buy stupid ****!

I know when I see something good. XBoxAddict has some GREAT potential of being the leading information pipeline for the XBox. I just hope the creators have the will and desire to make it so.

They already have merchandise for sell: http://www.xboxaddict.com/store/

IGN was stupid for making IGN Insider. There's very little on the Internet worth getting a subscribtion for because it can all be found for free on other sites. Even the people who pay billions a year for porn are morons. It's all over the 'Net for free. If you're into that sort of lame behavior.

I think the biggest draw for people will be original content. Not just posting a link to news at other sites. Things like editorials, contests(which Xbox Addict is doing), and news you've uncovered before anyone else.

Dr_J
07-14-2001, 02:53 PM
Yeah, XBA has a store....but, it's all XBA stuff. That's cool and all....in my opinion, they need to draw people here with things to offer. Like you said, exclusive editorials, contests, and maybe games or other hardware at a discount or pre-order. Like XBoxGamesExpress (http://www.xboxgamesexpress.com/).

That would definately make this place huge, I think.

i think that this place, if it continues to stay this good will be huge. if they can get rewviews soon after the game comes out or maybe even slighty before it comes out that would be perfect! and as long as the reviews are good and not praising everything xbox it will be fine! i tihnk we will have more people joining closer to the launch or once the ads for xbox start comin out

We are currently working on getting a new server that doesn't suck!! The current one blows... NEVER NEVER NEVER sign up with Powweb if you aim to run a site of this size. Smaller sites maybe.. but the demands on the server of this site must cripple the POS server us and 1200 sites are on!! SHEEESSH!

HOPEFULLY! *crossing fingers* we will be moving the site to a new home thats offered us more space, more bandwidth, more uptime, our own private chat room that doesn't go out to IRC so you don't have to worry about bots and that sort of thing, scripts scripts and more scripts.

We have a slew of interviews.. actually one is going up either later today or tomorrow (have to get the bugs out of the code) and we have 6 more in the wings. Our newest interview is in audio format and runs for over 45 minutes!! But the kewl thing is you will be able to fire it up and minize the window and keep chunking along browsing around good ol' XBA. :)

These are just a few small things that are happening.. there is more bigger stuff in the works as I type. You see that jim fine dandy game database we have?? Well it looks like a nekkid newborn compared to the new design in the works that's quite simply going to be the *ahem* one stop shop for Xbox info. I'm sorry.. I just can't bring myself to make those kind of statements about us. Ours is more like.. "They Say it's lonely at the top..... We wouldn't know" Hehehe.. Err... Kevin is tired... must go sleepy.

One last note. On the TeamXbox/Msxbox merger, I'm happy for the Teamxbox guys and hope it pays off for them (or they at least get their moneys worth). The Teamxbox crew has been nothing short of stellar at keeping in touch with us (well Bart *nods to Bart* has.. haven't heard from the other two yet though) and always throws up linky dinks back to us when we actually post something up. Maybe now we can all start to become a "community" again. We shall see though.. when money appears in peoples eyes.. things change. Oh well. They did a hella job on the rework of the site and while I find it very graphic intensive, it's pleasing to the eye. Great job guys and best of luck to ya!

-Signing off half asleep and probably not making much damn sense....

TeamXbox was started in December of 2000, so yeah, a couple months after XBA. I've been visiting TeamXbox from the start, and found XBA in, well, whenever I got this name in the forums. I don't remember. :) XBA, in my opinion, is better.

I seriously thought that the TeamXBox.com and and MSXBox merger was gonna make a bigger "bang" to be honest, I went to their site expecting a unreal games database, and it just wasn't there.

I feel bad, but I thought all thoses people would have a 100 times better database than us. Not saying that our database is the only place to be, nor am I bias but...I just expected more.
That's all. :)

TeamXbox are a great bunch of guys. They are doing a great job over there.

I worked at MSXbox.com, as a Senior Editor earlier, now with TeamXbox.com. The merge was big, and if you like the Nightcaster stuff, you'll like the other stuff we have planned. I love Xbox Addict, the guys are really nice and when we have an interview or something they never hesitate to post it. And that is why I visit this site a couple times a day. Keep up the good work guys!

I would just like to extend a personal welcome to Iceman as he is the FIRST member of either the old Msxbox and Teamxbox to join our message board. We welcome all of the webmasters from every site across the spectrum into our little home, although none of them come... We do welcome them :) So with that being said....

.. Welcome Aboard Iceman.

Uh? Unless someone here at TXB is holding out on me we aren't getting any money. We are still doing what we have always done and its not for a price.

We have been cool with Addict since we started and through the past months both sites have continued to grow. We hope that our relationship will continue. Addict is one of our favorite sites and it always has been.

And if anyone knows anything more about this money thing, let me know, cause I sure haven't seen any.

Take it easy, and keep up the good work XBA!

Hey It's Shockwave!!! Welcome aboard bro!

Hmmm.... money. Making money on the internet. My initial guess seeing as Msxbox was CNET Alliance material and with their msg board being as busy as a Nascar raceway, Sol and the guys should have been raking in cake about 4 or 5 digits worth a month. Hell, we did that on a motocross site! So the Cnet thing went south, but the traffic you guys have is phenomonal and can we mention contacts?!?! We have yet to speak with anyone on the Xbox team believe it or not- I guess we're not worthy or something. You guys know everyone on the Xbox team. Use them to your advantage! We're out here supporting them.. make them place a call for ya! Be aggressive! *GRRRR* hehehe

Now I do know that Doubleclick is the preferred company but there are others out there. Do a search for "CPM" you'll find em' ;).

*word of warning... stay away (very very very) far away from eUniverse. BAD!*

As for the people changing comment... I was only talking from a past experience and a rule of thumb. We love Teamxbox and always have... Chris is always on your msg board for those challenging Game contests. And I must say I am a bit envious of Shockwaves Flash experience (*note to self... must learn flash*).

Anywho... enough site talk.
Welcome Aboard Shockwave!

Thanks for the worm welcome Kev... hehe. I also love XBA and always have, certainly my favorite Xbox fan site out there (after TXB that is). Keep up the good work, you guys are doing great! As for this money thing, we don't make any kind of money, the only thing we earn is respect from our fans that stick with us... nothing is better then having fans appreciate all the hard work you put into a site. Anyways, like I said, good luck XBA!

We were the first Xbox fan site, back in Febuary 2000. As for the members, we started with a few... then our site kept expanding and we started getting more and more hits, then all of the sudden we started getting about 100 members a day and that is why we now have 5500+ in our forums. We will continue to expand with the help of this merge. Later man, hope that helped.
