help please

i've been playing on live with no problems forr a couple months now. Today I tried to log on and i'm getting a DNS error. the help options offer no help what so ever. Any ideas what i can do?

Goto the main Xbox sign on page, goto settings>network connections. Goto the bottom and press connect. See if you can get connected. If not find out your DNS by going into your network connections on your PC.

i'm really at a complete loss here. I don't see how everything could be working fine for months and then out of nowhere i get DNS error. I'm connected through a router. I have DNS set on automatic.....I can't see anything wrong. THis is so aggravating. I hate technology

Maybe unplug your modem and your router for a couple minutes and plug them back in.

as quickly and mysteriously as the problem appeared it disappeared.....strange. thanks for all the help. good to know i'll have a place to turn in the future.

the problem is back again....this is so frustrating. I guess it's Cox's problem. Anyone else have cox cable? Or just a reocurring problem with connecting to live?
