When did you dudes preorder Halo 2? I preordered mine a year ago...the mama jama is paid in full. Now, I just have to wait to get my copy. I paid for it in full because I want to know that I am, for damn sure, getting it the day it comes out. Hell, I'm camping out for this bad boy!

Or, have you guys preordered at all? If not, why the H. E. Double Hocky Sticks haven't you already!?!??! :eek:

well, better safe than sorry if u preorder it. with over 250,000 copies preordered, do u think ebgames will hand it out to walk on gamers without preoders? well i think not. its gonna be chaos once this game comes out. i rather have my game in the mailbox and walk outside and get it instead of going to a store and being overunned by halo gamers.

250,000+ is alot. i just hope bungie makes enough for the launch day and i hope i get mine in the mail.

I will preorder when Bungie figures out a release date, then on the day of release, I will go to Wal Mart and buy it if they get it. Whichever one I get first, I will take the extra back to Wal Mart or keep it. (wait I wasn't supposed to say that :) )

Haven't pre-ordered. Probably won't even think about getting it until it's been out for a week.

I just can't wait until all of the over-hypdness goes away so I can enjoy it for what it is. So many poelpe are going to be disapointed.

Just like what happened with Deus Ex 2, Enter the Matrix, Brute Force, and so on. Just on a scale about 1,000,000 times as big.

I'm not paying extra money so I can get my copy a few days ahead of the people who didn't pre order. I'm not sure what the big rush is, you are all going to have it sooner or later, but that's just me.

You really think its going to be a flop like those were? Come on, this isn't some company new to making big games, this is BUNGIE! They have taken halo and morphed it into this new supercool game, and its not going to fail.

Halo 2 probably won't be a flop of a game. But alot of poeple are going to be supremely disapointed by it. Like I have said before, they are expecting it's arrival and experience to be equal to that of a god descending from the ehavens to liberate us all from our mortal chains.

It's just not going to live up to the hype. Nothing with this much hype can.

Also consider that Halo was in development for at least 5 years before it was released, and it still had it's issues. Halo 2 has been in development for what, 3 years maybe?

It's not extra money. The $5 you pay for the preorder goes towards the game when you get it. I preordered with $5, so I will pay $45 + Tax when it comes out

Honestly, dude...I think you're way off base on this post. Even if Halo 2 was identical in every way to the first Halo except a new campaign and new multi-player levels, I would be 100% content. I still play Halo on XBConnect far more than any other game. Out of 20 hours of gaming, I play 19 of that on Halo. Halo 2 will definately not disappoint...and, I haven't bought into the hype...I don't really need to. The game is going to be good...there's no question.

It will disappoint a lot of people. Expectations for this game could never be met.

Still, it will be at worst, an above average game, w/ a ton of people playing it. (Live)

I had no hesitation on putting down my pre-order. Wouldn't have done it yet, but that whole rumor thing about the early launch was enough to get me in there just in case. Don't see the point in pre-ordering a year in advance though.

Maximus, you might be willing to pay 50$ (75$ CAD) for a Halo clone, but ALOT of poeple aren't. They already bought Halo, they don't want to buy it again.

A good point, and that's the attitude I'm adopting. I won't be disappointed in the least because I'm expecting the same Halo......with new missions/weapons/muliplayer.

I honestly hoped you had more faith in Bungie than that. They won't release a bad game. Halo 2 will be the best game ever after Halo (for FPS's anyways), it's just sad that some people don't think it is possible for a game to be that great, even though they always wish for one.

Bungie is the greatest game company in the world, you should believe in them more (I am speaking to everyone on this). Halo 2 will own you.

I reserved my copy a couple months ago, when i THOUGHT the release date was April, but now its delayed again. Not delayed really, since there was no offican release date. Still, it sucks Halo 2 couldnt release tommorow.

I have to honestly say that Halo is the only game I've been able to play for 3 years and not get tired of it. I've played every level, every multiplayer mode (and some of my own), they entire campaign through leg, w/ anywhere from 2-9 people at a time. Halo 2 (for me) won't be a disappointment because I make it a point to know what is (and what isn't) going be in the game. Furthermore, Halo 1 was in development for 5 years because it started out as a Mac RTS game that was eventually converted into an Xbox only FPS. This time around, they already have so much to work with.

Back to the post header: as soon as I have the $$ I'm going to preorder with full payment down so I can walk in to EB and walk out w/ Halo 2 when it comes out. It doesn't matter if there is a release date or not, when it comes it comes.

That's exactly what I'm saying, too! Even if Halo 2 didn't have new weapons (eventhough it is going to have new weapons), new vehicles (which it will also have), new modes (which it will have...including a multi-player Covenant Battle mode), improved A.I. (which Bungie claims that it is more advanced), better graphics (which clearly is the case)...I still would be content! Especially knowing that there is going to be a slew of new maps and all of this can be played on XBox Live! I mean, this is HUGE!

because of the recent anouncement I have decided that I will wait a while longer to pre-order. But Halo2 will come when it comes..... I will wait because I want quality... Also I have no problem waiting becuase after all of these years, halo has never bored me and I doubt it will for years to come... And no matter what anyone says it is not possible for Halo2 to suck to any degree... As it has been said, if Halo2 is nothing more than an update to Halo, it will be worth more to me than $50

Bungie has never released a date until now. Everything else was just speculation. Read the first paragraph of THIS (http://bungie.net/perlbin/blam.pl?file=/site/0/news/news_detail.html&id=C2D1DA44-6C29-4769-AF11-5F9E4948BF0B).

It clearly states that they don't give out dates until they can meet the deadline:
