Yeah, man, you can get just the headset. They're about $30 US. That's for the real deal headset. I believe MadCatz makes a replacement one, but it doesn't come w/ the unit that snaps into your controller. Those are cheaper, I believe, also.
Call your local Toys R Us or EB/Gamestop. They're sure to have 'em...
I busted the earpiece off mine the other night taking it off, but taped it up and it works fine. Guess yours is probably in pieces, though. Bad dog! Bad dog!

I bought one of those and when ever i would go into a game people would say i was making an anoying noise and to turn it off. So i suggest getting the real one, just my experience though.

worth a shot for 5 dollars. can always return it if it doesnt work out.
I'll post how it works for me. The reviews i've read have been widely mixed from great to terrible and everything in between.

I got the madcatz one. I've used it for a few hours and the only complaint I have is that it's not all that comftorable. But for 5 dollars is more than ok. I'd recommend it to anyone needing a replacement before getting the microsoft one. with the extra 25 bucks take your girl out to dinner......

Finally ordered one of these myself. I've heard about feedback on some of them, but I'm tired of dropping $25 on MS ones.
5 days after buying my last one, a shoe was on top of the headset cord. Well, when I got up to move, instead of the shoe shifting the little piece just broke.
There went #3. Taping can be alright depending on how you break it, but it always comes undone at the most inconvenient times. BTW, have yet to find a cel phone headset that really worked very well either.

Yeah, the XBL Headsets are the crappiest made things ever, the EB at my mall sells the MS and Mad Katz replacements, I guess it really depends on how comfortable you want it to be.
Been using the Mad Catz for a couple weeks now.
It's really not that uncomfortable. From the way some people talk, you'd think it has giant nails pounding into the side of your head while a hammer smashes your balls.
Feedback though. I get it. Not so much when people are talking, although that occasionally happens, but when in game. At pretty much any volume.
For anyone else who's getting it, move farther from your tv if you can. Something about the proximity gets it. Unfortunately, I have to sit close as that's just the current layout of my room, and I'm too lazy to move things.
