Halo2 weapons

Man ive seen the trailor and it seems the battle rifle as most people call it, kicks ass. Its like a single shot m16 and it does like alot of dmg. plus its soo acurate. It look like more accurate than the pistol. Will this gun replace the pistol!
O well im tired of the pistol :D
maybe there will b even more weapons cause the screen shot i saw showed 2 elite with a long rifle. Maybe this is a covenant sniper rifle or something

From what I've seen on a few different sites, the battle rifle is a combination pistol/AR, the potency and accuracy of the pistol combined with the rapid fire of the AR.

Also, MC will be able to wield 2 SMGs at once, and prolly the normal grenades but thats all I know, we got a lot of time to think about it till Fall.

E3 this year will be one of the most popular in years due to Doom3,HL2, and Halo 2.

I just want to use that damn plasma sword! Other weapons or changes I'd like to see:

Remotely detonated charges.

Flame Thrower.

Wolverine's claws. Snikt.

Balancing out the pistol, at least for multiplayer. It's ridiculous playing now. People only use the pistol.

Also, I think an entire level based around the banshee or comparable flying vehicle would be amazing. Imagine, starting off in a huge air battle with ten or twenty banshees trying to knock you out of the sky. That would be a whole lot of puddin.

Maybe a lvl when u have to get somewhere, at the start ur in the pelican then u and marines gotta shoot down banshees from ur little ****pit. Or maybe a turret gun in the plane hehe.
As for the battle rifle u gotta look at the hud to c the accuracy. The meaning of it means that the bullet will go somewhere in between the circle or w/e.
And for the pistol i dont want to use it 24/7 cause its boring :P. I dont c how it got to b the best weapon lol. O well there looks to be more weapons which mean more fun hehe. Hopefully they keep our old weapons hopefully. I still like the assault rifle its high tech hehe and it shoots fast.

there is supposed to be a new kind of gernade too, I'll I've heard about it is that you use it on brutes. They called it a :brute gernade. I'm gonna be scared now because the covenant have snipers. :watchout: active camo here I come!

I wonder if the active cammo will be better too. Anyway, we all know for a fact that practically all the previous halo weapons will be in halo 2 (bungie said that they are going to look similar but they totally remade them from scratch... that inlcudes the sniper rifle) On top of that, theres the inplication of new weapons (such as the battle rifle, the covenant snipers, ect....) but did you guys notice on the in-game movie that the brutes were carrying a more portable version of the fuel rod gun shooting blue projectiles? there's also the new ships the covenant own too. Not only are they fair game now, but do you think that they will be pilotable too? If you, in fact, get the chance to play as covenant forces in multiplayer, then there will certainly be people as Ellites going around killing people with their plasma swords (I wonder if there's going to be plasma sword only servers.... kinda like Sabers only servers with JK2 :D ) but all in all, I prefer not to speculate in order to be surprised in the game. Think of the places we can make the warthog fly to...

Well in the book Halo: First Strike, they said that the Battle Rifle is an accurate version of the Assault Rifle, fitted with a scope. It sounds kick ass. Also, I guess we have a new pistol too, since they also mentioned that in the book.

BTW, the book is REALLY GOOD! Get it if you've read the first 2. Actually, you only have to have read Fall of Reach, since The Flood was basically a recap of what happened on Halo.

The battle rifle is definately kick ass...it seems like the ultimate replacement for the pistol. I dig the sound of it, too :)

you know what would be cool, you know that ship that you get on at the end of the game, not the warthog, if you could controll, it had parachutes, so if it falls down ............... ya, a flamethrower would be cool, and if you could use covenant as shield, i mean the little grunts if their dead you could pick up their bodies, and carry it with one hand and use it as a shiled, or if theyre alive:cheers:

From what ive read the Elites can now walk on walls aswell, Oh and in the new Halo2 pic I think that the explosion in the back is part of the map, like they a gas cannister or something, remember most of the enviroment is destructible now, so dont think hiding bhind a wall will save u from a rocket, and I doubt u can use dead bodys for cover but u can flip tables and stuff for cover, that im pretty sure of

yea, I've heard about the elites climbing the walls. They also will use flashlights to hunt you down in the dark, and will destroy buildings or other things to block your route and force you to walk into an ambush. I know I'm gonna be really freaked out when I start to see elites crawling up walls and hunting me down with flashlights. Kinda like the first time I ran into the warrior-flood and they kept getting up and jumping at me. Its gonna rock!

Im looking forward to the environment changes. Imagine Hang Em High, and you knock over the sniper tower or blow up the catwalks. Just a thought.

With the new lighting specs (I think I read somewhere) that you can choose the time of day (day/night) or shoot out the lights and make it dark. Did you read this too?

I just cant wait for the first time you can do anything. I may have to stay off the websites so that I can experience everything for myself.

I like the idea of using the enemies as shield but not picking them up. Too complicated if they are to implement the duel weapon which you can fire independently with the L and R trigger.
Instead when they are on the floor, you can use them as shield. In Halo 1 you just go through these bodies once they are dead and I don't like that. You should be able to hide behind the dead bodies.

Anyway back to the topic: Isn't that sniper/assault rifle a battle rifle? I'm predicting that what the Elites are holding when they are patrolling the door, is not a covenant sniper rifle. I think this because why would they be carrying a covenant sniper rifle in a cramp area? Its small so they could easily use those Plasma Rifle or any close combat weapons. Thats just me, I'm trying to be a bit realistic here so you guys are entitled to your own opinions.

I wasn't paying too much attention, but weren't they holding laser swords? I'll have to watch it again. I don't think the cove sniper rifle has been confirmed yet.

I honestly hope that they don't put the flame thrower in the game, same with the fuel rod from halo pc.... they are the dumbest weapons EVER... i hate them so much.. its so stupid.. thats the one - for me

Yeah I totally agree with the flamethrower- I hate that gun, especially on small levels.

He's just mad because he sucks with it and gets killed by it ;)

The Fuel Rod Gun kills in 3 shots if you are good and the Flamethrower kills fast if you can get close enough. I don't see any problems with them, because if the other person is good than you won't have a big advantage over them.

3 shots with the fuel rod gun? Thats pretty sad considering that its pretty slow and that in the books it is supposed to be this all-powerful, butt-kicking, flesh incenirating, earth-scortching, armor-melting, shield-eliminating, ass kicking machine.

Its just like the rocket launcher, it depends on who is on the recieving end of the shot. Just because you get pwnd by them all the time doesn't mean they should'nt be there. When my bro''s friends come over to system link, they are always flipping cause I kill them one on one when they have the rocket launcher. Its all about skillz baby.
