I played FF8 and absolutly loved it..........that is until I got the origional morrowind and FF8 became obsolete, then later on I got morrowind:goty and practically fell down dead over.:D

I voted for KotOR. But in fact, other great RPGs that I have played are Morrowind and of course the Shenmue series. By the way, why isn't Shenmue II up there? It is one of the most innovative RPGs of our time, as well as its predecessor.

final fantasy 7, no doubt about it, it's been my favorite game ever since it came out!! but i havn't played the GOTY version of morrowind yet, i'm getting that later tonight though. the only game i'll probably ever like more than ff7 is fable (if it lives up to the hype).

Panzer Dragoon Saga had the most original gameplay and the most emotion renching story I've ever seen in a video game. IT's a shame the large majority of you guys will never get to play it.

i think morrowind is the ultimate addiction because of it's endless replayability. but i feel the same way about amped, but ff7 doesn't have nearly as much replay value, yet it still is the best rpg i ever played.

morrowind..the only game i have ever played more than morrowind is counter strike on the pC.. but since we are talking about rpg's.. morrowind rules all.

I voted "other" because I'm all for the classics. Super Nintendo had the best RPGs.

I would still rather play Chrono Trigger or Mario RPG than many of the new fangled RPGs out there.

I really loved FF7 and 8, but the series has become lame. KOTOR was an amazing game, I think it will have a big impact of the future of RPGs. I just finished Arx Fatalis, and it was very good, but, as for the best, well, I have to say Morrowind GOTY edition. It's become an addiction, I can't seem to put it down. The more I play, the more I see just how in depth and truly amazing this game is.

I too miss the role playing games of old(Fantasy Star 3)Final Fantasy 7 was a good game... I enjoyed it , but it lacked the interactivity with its enviorments (buildings you cant enter-pre rendered back grounds-rat thrugh a maze) and exploration elements that really turn me on. I know it's really really old but my first introduction to RPG was Ultima 6 and I found it really fun for some reason.

Now it's all about Morrowind but comparing the two is apples and oranges

Morrowind is crap. First person RPG's are stupid. Well, that's my opinion anyhoo. Best Ever on any console? (Why did you list the original BG PC version if it's a console question?) Dragon Warrior on the original NES, or the first Final Fantasy. Those games owned the basics. If you want to include PC games...any number of D&D titles. Darklands. That game was sweet.

I've yet to be stunned by any console RPG. Morrowind is probably the best to date, as it's open-endedness is awe inspiring (despite it's flaws). But still, it's not that pretty of a game (outside of the water) and the combat is just ugly.

The PC will always, ALWAYS rule the RPG world.

most of my gaming life i have hated rpg games (except for ff7). But fable is coming sooner or later and it has my attention more than any other game ever has before. i know that you all love morrowind: goty edition (whatever that means) and some (or all) of you will probably think i'm crazy, but i've never played morrowind! i've been an rpg hater for too long i guess. especially the ones that have turn based combat even though i do love ff7. so what the heck is so great about morrowind, i heard it doesn't even have an ending.

Without a doubt, the Final Fantasy Series. Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and X are some of the best games of all time. Final Fantasy VII is such a significant gaming acheivement, everything accept the graphics have stood the test of time.

i loved grandia for the DC.. If i spelled it right. Its was one of the best RPG's i have ever played. Great story batles were tight as hell, and it was about 20-30 hrs. But i loved the KOTOR games overall.

Ive only really started playing Rpg's like maybe 2 or 3 yrs ago(I hate final fantasy o soo much :cuss: ) but ya Morrowind is the greatest im actually playing it right now lol :p but ya i also liked Dungeon Seige (i believe thats what its called on the pc) thats a sweet game and i only tryed the demo but ya for me right now its morrowind......Nothing better then taking someones house :cool:
